The New York University Tisch School of the Arts is a center of study in the performing and media arts. Founded on August 17, 1965, Tisch is a training ground for artists, scholars of the arts, filmmakers, and creative entrepreneurs. The school merges the technical training of a professional school with the academic resources of a major research university to immerse students in their intended artistic disciplines. It is located at 721 Broadway in Manhattan, New York City. NYU has the most alumni working at Broadway theatre.HistoryTisch School of the Arts was founded in order to provide conservatory training in theatre and film, in the context of a research university. The school created additional departments such as dance, theatre design, and cinema studies within a few years. Following the creation of the undergraduate Department of Drama in 1974, the school expanded into other artistic forms, including the Interactive Telecommunications Program, Department of Dramatic Writing, Department of Performance Studies, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, Department of Photography and Imaging, and The Department of Art and Public Policy.In 1985, the school's first dean, David Oppenheim solicited a donation from Laurence A. and Preston Robert Tisch that made possible the acquisition and renovation of 721 Broadway, where most of the school’s programs are housed. In recognition of the generosity of the Tisch family, the school was renamed Tisch School of the Arts.

The New School is a private research university in Lower Manhattan, New York City, located mostly in Greenwich Village. From its founding in 1919 by progressive New York educators, and for most of its history, the university was known as The New School for Social Research. Between 1997 and 2005 it was known as New School University. The university and each of its colleges were renamed in 2005.The university was set up as the University in Exile in 1933 as a graduate division to serve as an academic haven for scholars escaping from Nazi Germany among other adversarial regimes in Europe. The University in Exile in 1934 was chartered by New York State and its name was changed to the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science. In 2005, it was renamed the New School for Social Research. Located in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, Glucksman Ireland House is the center for Irish Studies at New York University, with courses in history, Irish language, literature, music, and politics. NYU undergraduates may pursue a minor or a B.A./M.A. in Irish and Irish-American Studies. Graduate students may earn a Masters in Irish and Irish-American Studies For the New York community, we present a weekly public events series during the academic year, as well as a monthly traditional Irish music series. For the non-credit adult learner, we host evening Irish language classes. We also serve as a resource center for Irish, Irish-American, and Irish diasporic culture.
L.U.C.H.A was founded in 1971 after the Higher Education Opportunity Program (H.E.O.P) began to diversify New York University. The influx of Latinos and African American students created a need for an outlet in which their voices could be heard. Politically minded students came together and formed the League of Unified Cooperative Hispanic Americans. In 1994, the E-board of the already long established club decided to change the name of their organization. L.U.C.H.A became "Latinos Unidos Con Honor Y Amistad," representing the struggle that breeds accomplishments and success for our people. Que Siga La L.U.C.H.A!!! L.U.C.H.A is a student-run organization and relies heavily on the support of incoming, as well as returning, students to keep its legacy alive. While we focus primarily on issues concerning Latinos, we encourage people of all cultural backgrounds to attend and participate in all of our meetings and major events. We encourage you to keep an eye out for our upcoming community service initiatives and cosponsorships with other clubs on campus. Steinhardt's Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University is at the forefront of innovative scholarship and teaching. Our faculty includes many world-renowned scholars of media and culture who investigate the role of the media, images, and communication and cultural practices. Our approach to the challenges of the current media environment comes from an in-depth understanding of technology as a social and cultural phenomenon and the histories of media and technology that have brought us to where we are today. Tech@NYU was created in Fall 2009 to connect technical and non-technical NYU students interested in building technology startups. Incubated with the help of the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Tech@NYU held its first event “Business Meets Tech” in October 2009 to help students form teams for the Stern Business Plan Competition. The event was attended by over 50 students and co-sponsored with the Masters Association for Computer Science, the Entrepreneurial Exchange Group (undergrad), & the Entrepreneur’s Exchange (MBA). Now, our events are routinely attended by over 1000 members of the NYU undergrad and graduate community as well as entrepreneurs residing in New York City. We are an officially recognized NYU All-Square club.
