Founded in 2002, in memory of the owner's father, Ike's offers a wide variety of options suitable for any appetite. Voted "The Best Burger" by CityPages several years running, the Ike's burger is the crown jewel of burgers in the Twin Cities. Breakfast is served daily on weekdays from 7:00AM to 10:00AM, with a menu sporting classic egg dishes and freshly squeezed fruit juices. From 11:00AM to 2:00PM, lunch is served. A Minneapolis tradition was born on October 2, 1947, when the Oak Grill opened for business. Architect Bob Hansen used characteristics from the Jacobean period in the design of the rooms. The ornate fireplace, originally from Salisbury, England, was over 300 years old when it was transported in sections and reassembled in the Oak Grill. With its solid oak columns and vast frame, it soon became the room’s focal point. Its distinctive appearance, along with dark paneling, red chairs and dim lighting, help give the Oak Grill its cozy ambiance. In the heart of downtown Minneapolis, appropriately located in a beautiful underground space, you’ll discover a chef-owned restaurant known for its damn good food: unique but not fancy, interesting but not fussy. The News Room is an upscale casual restaurant serving an American eclectic menu. Our menu changes four times a year and also offers daily specials. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, yet each of our seven rooms is unique with respect to décor and environment. We bake all of our breads and pastries in house and even roast our own coffee. We are open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We have a very large patio that spans right down Nicollet Mall and is always open (weather permitting). We accept reservations for parties of six or more.
