The Department of Recreational Sports is host to the Oregon State Adventure Club. The Oregon State University Adventure Club is a student-led program within the Department of Recreational Sports and Adventure Leadership Institute (ALI). The Adventure Club organizes and conducts recreational and educational outdoor pursuits for the campus community. The Adventure Club contributes to the educational mission of the university by offering learning opportunities for students pursuing leadership and facilitation certifications through the Adventure Leadership Institute. The OSU Adventure Club is founded on the principles of experiential learning, using human powered outdoor pursuits to expand knowledge, leadership, service and community. Membership prices: 1-Time Trial $10 Term $15 Academic Year $35 Located at the east entry to Dixon Recreation Center, the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) includes outdoor equipment rental; maps; river and snow reports; and the bike, ski, and snowboard shop. The Oregon State University Adventure Club is a student-led program within the Department of Recreational Sports and Adventure Leadership Institute. Who can become a member? The Adventure Club is open to all Oregon State University students. Does it cost to be a member? Yes, $35.00 for a year membership, $15.00 for a term membership, $10.00 for a one time trial. How do I sign up? You can sign up for an Adventure Club membership and all trips at the Outdoor Recreation Center located in Dixon. What kind of trips does the Adventure Club offer? The Adventure Club is aimed at human powered, outdoor pursuits like hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, backpacking, mountaineering, XC skiing and much more! Do trips cost extra money? Some trips may have an additional fee that helps cover gear and transportation cost. Do I need experience and equipment? No, Adventure Club trips are aimed at beginner outdoorsmen/women looking to gain experience in outdoor endeavors. The Adventure club will provide any technical gear required for the trip but members will be responsible for personal items such as clothing, etc. How many trips does the club plan? On average, six per term. Do you have to be a member to go on Adventure Club trips? No, non-members can pay a one time trial fee of $10.00 in addition to the trip cost and enjoy the outing. How often does the Adventure Club meet? Adventure Club meetings are the first Wednesday of every month that school is in session. They are at 7pm in the Dixon Lower Classroom. The Oregon State University Pistol Club is a student run recreational sport club founded in 1948 and is under the Department of Recreational Sports. The club encourages organized pistol target shooting among students, faculty and staff, with a view towards better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. No previous firearm experience is required to participate and OSU Pistol Club provides all necessary equipment.

Gill Coliseum is a multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Opened in 1949, the arena has a seating capacity of 9.604 and is home to the Oregon State Beavers' basketball, wrestling, volleyball, and gymnastics teams. It is named after famed basketball coach Amory T. "Slats" Gill who compiled a 599-392 record in 36 seasons, from 1928 to 1964.The court is named after another famed OSU coach, Ralph Miller, who led the men's basketball program from 1971 to 1989. The building also houses a weight room, equipment center, locker rooms, and offices for the Oregon State University athletic department and its teams. Inside, on the south wall of Gill Coliseum is a painted mural of many former Oregon State men's basketball players including Gary Payton, Brent Barry, AC Green, Lester Conner, and Steve Johnson.HistoryPrior to the construction of Gill coliseum, intercollegiate basketball games were hosted in the Oregon Agricultural College Gymnasium, constructed in 1914. This building continues to stand as the current Langton Hall.Gill Coliseum opened in 1949 and housed the Horner Museum in the basement until 1995 when the museum closed.
