621 Kalamath St
Denver, CO 80204

The original building structure, harboring over 30,000 square feet of usable space, had been sitting vacant on the corner of 6th Ave. and Kalamath for over 5 years. Located just one block away from the Denver Santa Fe Art District and sitting on one of the busiest intersections in Denver, it was a great opportunity awaiting its next incarnation. The location and building were acting as a perfect "gateway" to Denver and the mountains. Tens of thousands of people passed by on a daily basis coming into Denver, and tens of thousands more passed it again as they headed west to experience Colorado's countless recreation opportunities. Flash forward to early 2010, and enter the combined vision of Wink Inc. and The Public Works. Each company desired to grow their business with a physical location in the heart of Denver, and this space fit the bill. The two businesses cover a wide range of creative services but believed that finding a large building and finding other like-minded companies would create something special and important to the city of Denver. In just over 4 months, a desolate and worn out 'skeleton' of a building transformed into Denver's newest and best shared creative space. Creative and diverse tenants were found. Many partnerships were formed. Great things were happening. Since opening in November of 2010, Battery621 has received instant attention. The entire floor plan was designed to maximize space usage and flexibility, allowing 621 to function as a premier place of business during the day, and a very unique event space after hours. Every aspect of the building has been looked at from the most progressive, creative, and sustainable angle to tell a unique story. We have taken a prominent corner of Denver from something of shame to a place that inspires creative spirit. With all that said, we welcome you to Battery621. And you know the best part? We're not even done yet...

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House, which opened on September 10, 2005, is located in Denver, Colorado as part of the large Denver Performing Arts Complex. It seats 2,225. The Caulkins family pledged $7 million towards the enhancement of the lyric opera house and adjacent public spaces which were constructed inside of the Newton Auditorium.History of the theatreThe Municipal Auditorium, the largest in America except for Madison Square Garden in New York, was completed in time to host the Democratic National Convention in 1908. Mayor Speer and the Chamber of Commerce raised $100,000 to celebrate the July 7 grand opening of the Auditorium with Denver's first national political convention, when William Jennings Bryan was nominated to run for President for the third time.Originally, the building was a multi-purpose structure: it accommodated concerts, operas, theatrical shows, conventions, basketball, auto shows and even circuses, with flags flying from its domes and light bulbs outlining its pediments, cornice, and corners. The proscenium of the original building was designed to be portable so as to create different-sized spaces for different events. When the proscenium was in place, the building was a 3,326 seat theatre with an extraordinarily large back stage area. When the proscenium was raised, increasing the seating capacity to 12,000, the stage and backstage area became large enough to hold circuses and rodeos. For several years in the 1920s and 30s, Music Week was an annual event in Denver. Various communities of the state presented musical programs and most of the performances were in the Auditorium. An opera or operetta was commonly included in the offerings. In 1921, a company of Denver musicians performed Flotow's Martha in May; of special historical significance was the fact that the two performances were broadcast by radio station 9ZAF, the first time ever that a full-length opera was broadcast.

It has never been a true mosque in the Islamic sense. In 1924, having outgrown the building, the Shriners sold it to the Scottish Rite Masons, who renamed it. In 1995, the Scottish Rite sold the building to Eulipions, Inc. who converted it into a catering and events facility.
