Public administration can be defined as the organization and management of people and materials to achieve public purposes. Yet, this general definition does not capture the variety of organizational arrangements, the wide range of possible management approaches, nor the variety of individuals, groups and materials that are part of public administration. It is an appreciation for the complexity of public administration that supports the mission and goals of Villanova’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) program

We are a not-for-profit campus gallery whose mission is to present high quality exhibits by new, emerging, and established artists from around the world. Over the years, guest artists exhibiting at the gallery have come from as far away as Kuwait and as close to home as Philadelphia. The gallery has hosted exhibits of traditional watercolors from China, carved masks and totems from the Yoruba culture of West Africa, Batiks from Belorussia, and handcrafted ceramics and glassware from Italy. We have served as an inaugural venue for young artists and provided an exhibition space for talented older citizens whose discovery of the artist within came much later in life. All exhibits are open to the public and are free of charge. The public is cordially invited to all artists' receptions. We welcome the opportunity to put new names and addresses on our mailing list in order to let you know of special events, such as free demonstrations by exhibiting artists, and other programs. Chinese masters have shared their ages old watercolor and calligraphy techniques, and a Belorussian master his batik-making skills. Group tours of gallery exhibits are available free of charge. Come visit us. Blessings, Rev. Richard G. Cannuli, O.S.A., Director Villanova University Art Gallery

RUIBAL Challenge, a freshman-only certificate program, allows first year Villanova students the opportunity to use their unique gifts and talents to build relationships with Philadelphia students. Our volunteers also have the chance to build community with other freshmen in a unique environment. The program provides a framework in which students can learn about the justice issues which necessitate this kind of service, and reflect on how the experience of service impacts their own understanding of themselves, their world, and their spirituality. Students serve in the spirit of St. Thomas of Villanova, who dedicated his life in service to the poor. In the tradition of Catholic Social Teaching which emphasizes a preferential option for the poor, a commitment to the Common Good, and the pursuit of solidarity, RUIBAL calls students to put their faith into action by practicing a love that does justice, building a community which creates change, and discovering a commitment which can transform their lives.
By exposing Villanova to African and Caribbean cultures, through fashion shows, galas, fundraisers, and various other events we can create an open dialogue about the significance of recognizing each and every ethnicity.
