Sandy Hazanow, D.V.M. Dr. Sandy Hazanow moved to the Bay Area after graduating from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts in 1992. After completing an internship in critical care medicine and surgery she joined an emergency practice team in San Francisco and continued to pursue her interests in surgery and critical care through post graduate practice and education. She has developed a style that incorporates a personalized, interactive approach with advanced medical and surgical care which she refers to as "the slow food approach to veterinary care". Sandy's interests include behavior, surgery, dentistry, and critical care internal medicine. She is currently serving her third term as president of the SF Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of work, Sandy keeps busy playing ice hockey, rock climbing. skiing and fly fishing- most recently, she has been talked into snowboarding. She and her partner have 3 dogs and are hoping to adopt some rescue earthworms for their new compost bin in an attempt to keep up with the Knobels. Lauren Knobel, D.V.M. Dr. Lauren L. Knobel came to California in 1980 and completed her B.A. with honors at Mills college in Oakland in 1984. She was one of 4 WICHE students from the state of Hawaii which sponsored her education at Colorado State University where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She has practiced in Oakland since her return in 1990, owning her own hospital from 1995 until 2006 where after she joined the Four Corners team. Dr. Knobel has strong interests in client education, internal medicine, dentistry, behavior and rehabilitative medicine. She is active in the Great Dane and German Shepherd Rescue Foundations. Dr. Knobel enjoys spending her free time traveling, cooking and playing with her 4 legged and feathered family of 2 dogs, 1 cat, a tortoise and 7 chickens.
