Located in the heart of Sheffield Neighbors, also known as Lincoln Park West, McGee's Tavern & Grille is a very popular Tavern/Bar & Grill, especially with DePaul University students and the best Ohio State University bar in Chicago. A well-lit place where there's always someone who has your back and knows how to keep a secret. It is said that decades ago, the local neighborhood fell upon dark times and was beset by crime. In the evenings the streets became too dangerous to wander. Fed up, four locals decided to keep vigil over the area, thwarting robbery attempts and chasing off would-be criminals. As the community again became a safe place to live, a celebration was planned at the corner of Ashland and Diversey to honor the four unknown heroes. But a vigilante must fear retribution from both the law-abiding and lawless alike. The four protectors did not attend. Their identities were forever cloaked in shadow. Locals dubbed them the Four Shadows. Rumors emerged and it was widely believed that they were local barkeeps who were angered by seeing their friends fall victim to thieves. But, if anyone truly knew who these mysterious guardians were, they kept it secret. The tight-knit community proved that it could also be a tight-lipped one. The foursome would stand sentinel over their beloved neighborhood in good times and bad. It is in the spirit of these four brave souls that Four Shadows Tavern & Grill celebrates their love of community.
