The Paramount Theatre is a concert venue in Denver, Colorado, located on Glenarm Place, near Denver's famous 16th Street Mall. The venue has a seating capacity of 1,870, but is a popular destination for large acts looking for a smaller concert setting. With spelling as Paramount Theater, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.HistoryThe Paramount opened in 1930 as a movie theatre, part of the Paramount-Publix Theatre Circuit, the exhibition arm of Paramount Pictures. The theatre itself was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp, with decorations by designer Vincent Mondo, murals by Louis Grell of Chicago. The original main entry to the theatre was at 519 16th Street, where an entrance lobby was cut through an existing commercial and office building. The three story office and commercial building featuring what was then the theatre's secondary entrance on Glenarm Place, now the main entrance, was designed by the local architect Temple H. Buell. Buell's design is a modernized, art deco interpretation of the Gothic style, executed largely in cast concrete and white terra cotta. For several decades the Paramount enjoyed success as one of the premier movie houses in the Rocky Mountain region. Then, like other large movie theatres, its patronage declined as population and commerce dispersed into new suburban areas. The venue has survived and evolved, and now plays host to numerous concert and performance acts. The theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and the city of Denver recognized it as a historic landmark in 1988. Eight years later, Sinbad performed his HBO comedy special "Son of a Preacher Man" here.

The Savoy at Curtis Park occupies the second floor of a landmark Victorian building. Built in 1887 and residing in the historic Curtis Park Neighborhood, the second floor was used as a private social club with a dance floor/social space, lobby, and lounge. Today, it remains as one of the few surviving spaces of its kind in the city of Denver. A short walk from Coors Field, adjacent to the RiNo Arts and Entertainment District, the building was renovated in 2001. In 2012 the second floor was restored to its original configuration and the maple and cherry wood floors were returned to their original luster. The room and the lounge retain their original pressed tin ceilings and both spaces are illuminated by the original nine foot windows that offer city and mountain views. Offering affordable rates and a capacity of 275, the Savoy at Curtis Park is able to accommodate a wide range of dance, performance, and social uses; so be it a dance class, wedding, rave, concert or business gathering, give us a call and let us show you the Savoy at Curtis Park. The Sherman Street Event Center is a historic building in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood of downtown Denver. The Moorish inspired building was constructed in 1907, as a meeting hall for the El Jabel chapter of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine . It has never been a true mosque in the Islamic sense. In 1924, having outgrown the building, the Shriners sold it to the Scottish Rite Masons, who renamed it. In 1995, the Scottish Rite sold the building to Eulipions, Inc. who converted it into a catering and events facility.
Located steps from the 16th Street Mall and the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the restaurant’s sunny front windows look out onto busy Curtis Street. The décor will reflect Baur’s enduring elegance, taking guests back in time. Old, decorative tile floors are being exposed and an original chandelier still twinkles. Spira even tracked down a large, ornate cabinet from the candy shop at a local yoga studio. With the Baur’s legacy in mind, Spira began the hunt for a tenant who could connect Baur’s past with modern sensibilities–and is thrilled about opening a restaurant with a historic name. Enter Dory Ford, the proprietor of Baur’s, Est. 1872. A successful chef, restaurateur and businessman from California’s Central Coast, Ford focuses on sustainability and seasonality in his food for AQUA TERRA Culinary. Expect the menu for Baur’s, Est. 1872, crafted along with executive chef Robert Grant, to center on timeless classics. New seating in the restaurant will largely be movable, accommodating various configurations for music performances. The M/A/S music program aims to give a stage to smaller ensembles in genres that often lack exposure: chamber music, jazz, solo piano and more. Two performance rooms can host CD release parties, ticketed performances and private events. One of the rooms is gracefully separated from the larger restaurant space with stately French doors. Inside, the room’s high ceiling creates gorgeous acoustics for intimate music performances. Ample seating options and audio/video capabilities make the room a perfect place for meetings, luncheons, and gatherings of all kinds. http://www.baursmagic.com http://www.twitter.com/baursmagic http://www.facebook.com/BaursListeningLounge
