NACC is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in the Phillips neighborhood. The clinic serves all people, but is committed to providing a place where Native Americans can feel at home as the primary population at NACC. Although eighty five per cent of our patients are Native American, we do not receive Indian Health Service funding. NACC provides Medical, Dental and Counseling services. We also have an active Community Health department that includes a Dietician, Diabetes Case Manager, Patient Advocate, Health Educator and Prenatal Case Manager. We believe in the empowerment of every person and encourage them to become involved in improving their own health-physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Each year, surgeons at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital perform more than 4,000 pediatric surgeries. We have a long history of leadership in surgery and provide one of the nation's largest pediatric pectus (chest-wall deformity) practices. We are the only practice in Minnesota to offer three major types of pectus repair. Our team of pediatric surgeons has a national reputation as pioneers in minimally invasive surgery, resulting in less pain, faster recovery and fewer complications. At the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital, the combination of expert pediatric surgeons, easy access to multiple specialties and innovative care -- all located within a major research center -- provides children and their families with world-class academic care and treatment.

The Sisterhood Boutique was developed by East African women between the ages of 14 and 23 who reside in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, and participate in the Brian Coyle Center Youth Entrepreneurship Program. More than a year ago, program participants decided they wanted to build something positive for other girls and women in the neighborhood, and the Sisterhood Boutique was born. Young women involved with the program are learning a variety of personal and professional skills from business development to event planning, while the colorful variety of clothing and accessories available at the shop provide affordable clothing options for residents of the neighborhood. Thanks to Fairview Health Services, Augsburg College, Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, Sundance Family Foundation, Marbrook Foundation and Women Investing in the Next Generation (WINGS) Fund of the Greater Twin Cities United Way for their generous support of this innovative business venture.
Our goal is to build a community that is as collaborative and diverse as the art of filmmaking itself. Incorporated with the state of Minnesota as a non-profit organization and under fiscal sponsorship of Springboard for the Arts. Allowing us to use their 501 (c) 3 status and therefore take tax deductible donations and receive support, Springboard for the Arts has been an outstanding help to our organization.
The Campus Kitchen Project uses food as a tool to connect the Augsburg College campus with the larger urban community to develop leadership, provide service learning, and to provide for the basic needs of the neighborhood. Our four programs work towards this: FOOD TO SHARE - Volunteers take surplus food from the dining center and cater it to homeless shelters, home bound seniors, community centers, and youth programs, serving nearly 2,000 meals each month FOOD TO GROW - Our community garden that provides 100 plots to students, employees, and neighbors of Augsburg, allowing people to grow food and learn how to provide for their own health FOOD TO BUY - Every Tuesday through the summer you can visit our West Bank Farmers Market at the Brian Coyle Community Center in the morning and on campus in the afternoon. You may also join our CSA farm membership program and receive a box of fresh vegetables each week FOOD TO KNOW - Educating on the issues around poverty and food, and building the skills to grow and prepare healthy meals. We have a 10 week program for youth in the summer and classes for adults throughout the year
Augsburg Queer Pride Alliance is a group of students who identify with the LGBTQIA community; QPA's focus is promoting LGBTQIA concerns, providing education, and providing a supportive foundation to all students. QPA is funded by the students under the provision of the Augsburg Day Student Senate. We have weekly meetings where everyone can take part in planning QPA’s many events, hold discussions, and be together in a safe environment. We have a wide range of events, including retreats, Coming Out Week, Pride Week, Trans Day of Remembrance, as well as an annual drag show. QPA also acts as a social group on campus and creates a community for LGBTQIA students in all levels of coming out.
As Minnesota changes demographically, the urgency for true racial equity is greater than ever. Voices for Racial Justice works statewide – because communities of color and American Indian communities live throughout Minnesota – to break down the systemic barriers that limit access to opportunities and equitable outcomes.
The Alliance is a coalition of community-based organizations and advocacy groups building shared power to advance strategic campaigns for racial justice, economic justice, environmental justice and health equity in economic growth and land development in the Twin Cities region.
We accomplish our mission through: • Offering citizen journalism classes and media skills workshops • Creating a community newswire and syndication service • Building a partnership with neighborhood and community media serving diverse Twin Cities communities • Hosting public forums • Organizing networking opportunities for media professionals and engaged citizens Funding and support for the Twin Cities Media Alliance is provided by the Bush Foundation, McKnight Foundation, Minneapolis Foundation, Still Ain’t Satisfied Foundation, and by generous individuals who contribute to the organization.
