At Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills, we’re all about the kids! FIRST OFFICE VISIT Initial evaluation exams are offered free of charge and will last approximately fifteen minutes. During this visit, Dr. Sahrmann/Dr. Scroggins will complete an initial orthodontic examination and review possible courses and timelines for treatment with the patient and his or her family. If Dr. Sahrmann/Dr. Scroggins determines that the patient is ready to begin orthodontic treatment, initial records (photographs, x-rays, and impressions) can be completed immediately, if desired. This will require an additional twenty to thirty minutes and the cost will be included in the overall treatment fee. If you do not wish to complete these records at the initial appointment, an additional thirty-minute appointment can be scheduled prior to the beginning of treatment. If Dr. Sahrmann/Dr. Scroggins determines that the patient is not yet ready to begin orthodontic treatment, he will suggest a future timeline for treatment and our recall system will notify you when it is time to return to our office for another exam. No payment is expected and no future appointments need to be made at the time.
We take the time to talk to our patients to learn what they want. We can offer many choices because we do all the aspects of general dentistry. For example, some spaces between teeth can be closed with orthodontic braces or Invisalign treatment, but some are better closed with veneers or bonding due to a tooth size or shape discrepancy causing the space. Often the best result in the shortest time and less cost can be achieved by a combination of these different treatments. We have a greater variety of “tools” to fix the problem.
