This Facebook page is for anyone who is interested in keeping up with what's going on here at the Tri C! We are a non denominational, on-campus mission, founded and funded by local churches of Christ, at the University of Texas at Arlington. We are home to the UTA recognized campus organization Mavericks For Christ (Mavs for Christ, formerly Mavs4Christ,) a group of Christian students sharing God's love with UTA and the community. We are also home to several other domestic and international Bible study groups. We are available to all students and their families and friends, and strive to serve them through providing food, fun, and fellowship. We invite you to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and lunch or snacks for free at our in-center coffeehouse, Freebucks, located across First Street from the University Center Starbucks, next door to the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM.) Enjoy a quiet place to study in our library, or use one of our other common rooms for group study. "Rent" a movie or play a board game, billiards, foosball, ping pong (table tennis,) or mini air hockey with friends in our game room. We're open Monday through Friday, all day from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. *Please note, our hours of operation will be changing to close the center earlier for practicality and safety reasons. These new hours of operation will likely begin in Spring of 2013, and will be announced through our FB page and will be reflected in notices on our doors.* Our new Director, Eddie Stinson, facilitates our weekly Bible study and service project, and maintains our international ministry. He also helps provide students with lunch each day, serving a hot, home-cooked meal, with help from our many volunteers, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon. Tom Keesler and his wife, Chelsea, have been interns at the building since January of 2011, and help maintain a clean and functional facility that remains relevant to the students of UTA. They plan and organize weekly activities and other student events, as well as planning and organizing other yearly events and fundraisers. They plan and facilitate Mavs for Christ meetings and events, and continue to work on developing new and exciting ways to reach out to domestic/commuter and international students and spread the love of God. They are also the janitors for the center. ***Please note: While we are located on private property not owned by UTA, we have always been a no-smoking facility. Smoking is not allowed inside or outside the building (on the front/back lawns, the walkways, or our private parking lot.) UTA is now a smoke-free campus, which means smokers must smoke inside their cars with the windows rolled up, or they must walk off campus to smoke. We understand the inconvenience, and violators on Tri C property will simply be asked to stop and not to continue smoking here. However, anyone who refuses to extinguish and dispose of their cigarette properly, or who repeatedly violates the no smoking rule will be fined or ticketed. Please also note that our private parking lot is for UTA students who have purchased a Tri C parking tag, and for Tri C volunteers only, unless you have been given explicit permission from the center's Director, or one of our interns. Monday through Friday, metered parking is located around College St. and West St., and UTA student parking is located in the designated lots. Saturday and Sunday, metered spaces are free, and the UTA faculty lot to the north of our building is open for public parking. We appreciate your cooperation.***

Electrical engineering was originally founded on the power systems and electronics industries. However, it has grown rapidly, particularly in recent years, to include a broad range of technologies. Electrical engineers must be prepared to apply fundamental concepts to meet the challenging growth in technology, to understand and contribute to this growth, and to address problems that arise in existing devices and systems. The benefit of having an education in electrical engineering is that the student is prepared for a career, not only in technical areas, but also for further training in other disciplines such as medicine, law, public policy, business, economics, management, and teaching.
