About Mississippi Pizza In the late nineties, when Mississippi Avenue was home to just a handful of struggling businesses, visionary entrepreneurs Philip and Stephanie Stanton saw the potential few others could. They had an idea for a neighborhood pizza pub that would be based on three fundamental guiding principles: great pizza, family friendly live music and entertainment, and above all, serving the local community. Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an icon in the rich history of Oregon craft brewing. The name Ecliptic unites Harris’ two passions; brewing and astronomy. The brewery celebrates the Earth’s yearly journey around the sun through both its beer and restaurant offerings. About the beer and food: Executive Chef Michael Molitor rotates his seasonally inspired menu every six weeks in accordance with the old world calendar. Harris’ signature beers include Spica Pilsner, Orbiter IPA, Capella Porter, and Phobos Single Hop Red Ale. Ecliptic Brewing’s yearly rotation also includes an out of this world variety of Seasonal beers, Special releases, Collaborations, and Barrel Aged specialties. About John Harris: John began as a brewer with McMenamins from 1986-1988. From there he went on to be the founding brewmaster for Deschutes Brewery, where he created the recipes for Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Jubelale, and Obsidian Stout. He spent the next 20 years of his illustrious career as a brew master for Full Sail Brewing running their brew master reserve program. Lompoc (pronounced Lom-Pock, not Lom-Poke) Brewing has been producing handcrafted ales and lagers since 1996. The Lompoc family of brewpubs began with the New Old Lompoc at 1616 NW 23rd Ave in Portland. It then expanded to four more locations: Hedge House (3412 SE Division), Oaks Bottom (1621 SE Bybee); Fifth Quadrant, or 5Q (3901 N Williams, entrance on Failing); and Sidebar (3901 N Williams). The New Old Lompoc was torn down in 2012 and remerged in 2013 as The Lompoc Tavern at 1620 NW 23rd Ave. All Lompoc restaurants feature an excellent array of Northwest pub fare with a great selection of soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Each restaurant boasts its own menu, and claims its own specialty - Lompoc Tavern serves up the best clam chowder in town, while Oaks Bottom is famous for its Tatchos - nachos made with tater tots. All five locations offer fantastic outdoor seating, patios or decks that are dog friendly. Minors are not allowed at Sidebar or Lompoc Tavern, but they are welcome at Fifth Quadrant, Hedge House and Oaks Bottom. The original brewery name, the Old Lompoc, was borrowed from the New Old Lompoc House, a well-known establishment on SW First and Arthur in Portland in the 1950s and 1960s. That pub took its name from the Bank Dick, a 1940 comedy film set in Lompoc, California that starred W. C. Fields. Much of the movie took place in the "New Old Lompoc House," which was the local watering hole as well as a boarding house. Lompoc creates eight flavorful year-round beers (Pamplemousse Citrus India Pale Ale, C-Note India Pale Ale, Proletariat Red Ale, Kick-Axe Pale Ale, Fool’s Golden Ale, Stout Out Loud, LSD Strong Ale & Saison de L’Evolution Belgian-Style Ale) plus a ridiculous number of seasonals. BRIDGETOWN BEERHOUSE is a new and growing beer bar & bottle shop offering nearly 500 different types of bottles & cans, 8 rotating taps, and Growler fills. Though a few of our craft beer bottle/can selection include beers owned by Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch InBev), SAB Miller-Coors & Heineken entities, you will not find these corporation's flagship brands in our shop. Every beer is carefully selected to express the wide scope of craft beer, that is except for the Pabst, which we also carry. We are passionate about craft beer; this is shown by how the beer is stored under UV-filtered light, kept at approximately 38°F, and constantly rotated. We do not overstock or over-order from our distributors as we strive to have the freshest product available; that being said, we often have limited, older vintages of beers for sale that are worthy of cellaring and will continue to improve with age.
