On August 23, 1938 the Temple of Music — or The Washington Park Bandshell was opened to a crowd of 40,000. Emil Blatz contributed $100,000 to build the bandshell in Washington Park at a time when no one was building anything in Milwaukee. He took a chance on Washington Park because he wanted people to “listen to good music and forget their troubles.” So that’s what we do each Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:30pm starting in July and running through the end of August. Bring your lawn chairs, food, beverages, hang out and celebrate the park's 125th anniversary. Opening Acts: 6pm Main Acts: 6:30pm
