Athletic activity at Simmons centers around the William J. Holmes Sports and Fitness Center, a $10 million, 60,000 square foot facility located just steps from Simmons' nine residence halls and Bartol Dining Hall. Opened in 1989, the Center houses state-of-the-art training equipment, plus hardwood courts, an indoor running area, swimming pool, and much more. In 1992, the Holmes Sports Center received the Athletic Business Architectural Award.
Our 3300 square foot facility is equipped with a 24ft octagon cage, a 20ft boxing ring, plenty of open mats for grappling, heavy bags for striking, weights, cardio machines, a Pilates reformer, and world-class instruction. Wai Kru offers classes in: Muay Thai Kickboxing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Boxing Wrestling Submission Grappling Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Strength & Conditioning Self Defense There is no limit to the amount of classes you can attend each month. Classes are always open to any member. Gym members also have full access to the premises and unlimited use of all equipment during business hours just like a health club. Muay Thai and Boxing are all day classes! You can come at any time of the day we are open, not just the class format times on the schedule to train. Muay Thai and Boxing instructors are always at the gym during business hours to work with.
