Are you ready? It’s all waiting for you under the stars! And you don't have to pay a cent to get in. Thanks to the contributions from our amazing sponsors Decks In The Park is completely FREE! Deck’s in the Park was created by Jeff Mitchell, a veteran Dallas DJ/Producer with a long history in the music business. Jeff’s story could best be described as a record crates to real estate tale. Jeff has been a staple in the Dallas dance music scene, DJing both locally and internationally for the past 18 years. In his career, Jeff has played at some of most memorable club nights, parties and celebrity events in the city ranging from playing alongside Paul Oakenfield & Biz Markie to parties for Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd! By day, Jeff is a Vice President and top producing real estate agent known as the Modern Home Guy, who works with popular in-town broker, David Griffin and Co. Jeff also serves as a passionate advocate, mentor and member of the Dallas County JR Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters, which Decks in the Park proudly supports. Jeff says “I’m very fortunate in that everything I do, from real estate to music to community is a ‘get to’ for me. Decks in the Park is just another fun ‘get to’!” Decks in the Park is an idea that Jeff has been marinating on for over a year and just hadn’t found the right space and time to execute. Finally on a beautiful spring evening in 2013, Jeff visited Klyde Warren Park and immediately knew the mother ship had landed. The space couldn’t have been more perfect! Amazing architectural design, vibrant downtown energy and a perfectly designed performance space all in one! A week later and with the help of his friends at the Nasher, Jeff had the attention of Klyde Warren Park. They loved the idea and immediately gave it the green light! Jeff quickly began assembling a group of friends(Code Blue Sound, Spun Creative Group, Paul Paredes & Futura Events) who shared the vision and away they went. On June 27, 2013 Decks in the Park made its epic debut to a large smiling and dancing crowd of over 1000+ people in the park and was the second largest attended park event next to Klyde Warren’s opening. Decks got major press coverage from the likes of The Dallas Morning News to D Magazine and made Culture Maps #1 most read story of the week. With the strong Buzz about town, Decks expects even larger crowds to follow in the fall and spring with estimated numbers totaling two to three thousand.
