Bayview-Hunters Point Center for Arts and Technology (BAYCAT) is a nonprofit social enterprise that educates, empowers and employs young people from historically underserved Bay Area communities in the digital media arts including: video production, music production, animation, graphic and web design. We believe in running a nonprofit like a business, and in changing the philanthropy model — from begging to self-sustainable. That’s why we created the “clonor” model, where clients become donors, and donors become clients.

Since 1922 Golden Bear has made quality outerwear for those who want a sturdy piece of Americana. We made durable goatskin bomber jackets for fighter pilots in World War II. Our wool-body, leather-sleeve varsity jackets kept dockworkers warm in the 1920’s, high School and college kid’s ‘lettered’ since the ‘50’s, and today Chris Browne, Swizz Beat, and Snoop Dogg wear hip versions of this vintage style. During the ‘60’s through the ‘80’s our local San Francisco entertainers, such as Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, The Doobie Brothers and The Grateful Dead, wore our suede styles. In more recent years our soft lambskin jackets and luxurious wool coats have been sold in the best retail stores in New York. For over 80 years we have clothed our culture. Today the tradition continues.
