The Byham Theater is a landmark building at 101 Sixth Street in the Cultural District of Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Originally built in 1903 as The Gayety Theater, the former vaudeville house was renovated and reopened as The Byham Theater in 1990.Built in 1903 and opened Halloween night 1904, the then-named Gayety Theater was stage and vaudeville house, and it featured stars such as Ethel Barrymore, Gertrude Lawrence, and Helen Hayes. It was renamed The Fulton in the 1930s when it became a full-time movie theater. In 1990 the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust bought the theater and refurbished the Fulton as part of its plan for the Cultural District. Carolyn M. Byham and William C. Byham of Pittsburgh made a major naming gift for a 1995 renovation, and it has been the Byham Theater since.1960 World Series Game SevenFor the 50th anniversary of the Bill Mazeroski's series winning home run, the first public showing of the Game 7 taped discovered in December 2009 was hosted by Bob Costas at the theater on November 13, 2010 at 6 p.m. Mazeroski was joined by Pirate MVP Dick Groat and former Yankee Bobby Richardson to be interviewed during the showing of the game. MLB Network then telecast the game and interviews nationally.

Our 4 Chefs will spend 18 months with us. They run their own restaurants in our space and have the autonomy to run their businesses the way they’ve always dreamed. To the public we offer a full bar, coffee & espresso bar, and 4 innovative restaurants in our 6,000 square foot space. Every 18 months, we bring in 4 new, aspiring restaurateurs and start again.
A. J. Palumbo Center is a 4,406-seat multi-purpose arena in the Uptown area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania served by exits on both Interstate 376 and Interstate 579. The arena opened in 1988, and is part of Duquesne University. It is home to the Duquesne Dukes basketball, volleyball and wrestling programs. The center hosts concerts, boxing, and other special events, and is capable of converting the seating arrangement into a sport, stage, or theatre setup. The facility was named in honor of its benefactor, Antonio J. Palumbo, who was elected to the Duquesne University board of directors and, in 1987, received an honorary doctorate of Business and Administration from Duquesne. Performance Magazine, a concert trade magazine, has consistently ranked the Palumbo Center as one of the top 10 grossing arenas of its size since its opening in 1988.FacilitiesIn 2006, the Palumbo Center underwent major renovations. Our JBL system has been separated into the 3 types of sound; Bass, Mid-Range, and Treble through the use of 18 inch subwoofers, hanging 15 inch and dual 15 inch 2-way speakers and individual hanging 3 inch tweeter packs. We have done this so that the audio you hear is as accurately reproduced as possible, and that each audio range has been maximized. Our private VIP rooms also hold their own private sound system for your enjoyment. With the biggest sound comes the most lights and Whim’s lighting rig is second to none. Our installation houses 28 concert venue lights that power your emotions over our dance floor. Putting our lights into a nightclub is considered to be completely over the top! Our centerpiece is our one of a kind, 6 legged 30 foot diameter spider truss, which has been utilized to hold our brightest lights and command your attention throughout the night. All of the lights tie into our multi-touch screen and midi interface, which allows our lighting designers to give you countless displays and interactions. Our lighting system is not automatic like most clubs; light designers Jonathan and Kamil have full control via the DJ booth, so that they are in constant communication with the DJ to tailor the lighting for each song. Holding 1100 people can generate quite a heat wave, so Whim currently houses the only double jet Kryogenifex system in the city. Our cryo jets put out a nitrogen blast over the dance floor and cool it to 40 degrees within a matter of seconds! To please the masses, Whim provides 5 full service bars, 21 indoor VIP sections and a few extra outside on our deck that overlook the city. To re-fuel yourself, the famous Lou Dogg hotdog, along with an assortment of other finger foods are available to you. Whim is an open format nightclub, which means we play anything from Top-40, to 80′s hits, to electronic dance music. No excessively baggy attire (this includes but is NOT limited to pants/shorts sagging below the waist line). Work boots and tennis shoes must be laced and work properly. If these guidelines are not met, you will not be allowed to enter. Everyone without exception is to provide our doormen with valid ID. Whim has no toleration for underage drinking and/or being under the influence of any type. We reserve the right to press charges in any circumstance that requires police intervention. You must be 21 years of age to enter on Friday and Saturdays (Unless otherwise noted). Thursday is our 18 and over night in which case you must be 21 to drink, but only 18 to enter. We accept the following forms of identification for our under 21 patrons: State ID, College ID, Military ID and Passport. Proper identification (ex. wristbands) will be given to 21+ patrons on 18 and over nights to allow them to access the bars that serve alcohol.

Arthur J. Rooney Athletic Field is a 2,200-seat multi-purpose facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Situated on the campus of Duquesne University, it is the home field of the Duquesne Dukes football, soccer and lacrosse teams.Its location atop the Bluff in the center of Duquesne's campus makes Rooney Field one of the most unusual football facilities in the nation.
