Ellen's Stardust Diner is a retro 1950s theme restaurant located at 1650 Broadway on the southeast corner of 51st Street in Theater District, Manhattan, New York City. The Diner is regarded as one of the best theme restaurants in New York owing to its singing waitstaff. The diner also contains retro-themed memorabilia such as photos of many past Miss Subways on the walls, an indoor train, a 1956 Predicta television and a “drive-in theater” screen that showcases performances of the 1950s. The Original Soup Man is a chain of soup restaurants run by Ali "Al" Yeganeh, modeled after Yeganeh's original restaurant Soup Kitchen International, which was a well-known soup restaurant at 259-A West 55th Street (between Broadway and 8th Avenue), in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.The 55th Street location was closed in 2004, with the windows soaped over. Yeganeh, however, kept the lease on the shop while he looked to expand into a broader market. This led to the formation of the Original Soup Man chain and eventually led to the reopening of Soup Kitchen International, which now bears the name "Original Soup Man" like all of Yeganeh's other restaurants. Yeganeh was born in IranFranchise"The Original Soup Man" franchises have opened in various cities throughout the United States and Canada, including four in Manhattan. The soups are made in Yeganeh's industrial kitchen in Linden, New Jersey. Franchises are provided with some 45 soup varieties in 8lb bags available in rotation. On March 3, 2008, the first Original Soup Man franchise on a college campus was opened in the Russell House University Union at the University of South Carolina. There is something wonderful about ‘take away’ food; it provides you with the energy your body needs and suits your busy lifestyle in the City. When we were kids, we considered a trip to a burger joint as the biggest treat of the week. But then we grew up, and realised that most ‘take away’ food makes you fall asleep and gain weight. So, we asked ourselves: why can't ‘take away’ food be good food? We opened Milos Café in 2012, a spin-off of the world reputable ‘Estiatorio Milos’, because we wanted to prove that it was possible to serve ‘take away’ food that both tastes good and does you good. We wanted to make it easy for New Yorkers to eat well in the city between their meetings. Our menu is inspired by simplicity, freshness and the natural healthiness of Mediterranean products. Our family has Mediterranean roots, so this is the food we love and grew up with– such as the real Greek yogurt with walnuts and honey that our grandmother used to prepare for us as our power breakfast. We constantly travel and hand pick the ingredients we use in our kitchen: extra virgin olive oil from Peloponnesus, sea salt and honey from a monastery at the island of Kythira, spoon sweets from Mainland in Greece. Our success is attributed to our dedication in offering to New Yorkers through our flavours a daily escape to the islands and sores of the Aegean Sea.
