V-Day SDSU is the San Diego State University chapter of V-Day, a non-profit committed to ending violence against women and girls. Each year, V-Day SDSU produces a benefit performance of Eve Ensler's award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues and donates 100 percent of the proceeds: 90 percent to a local beneficiary and 10 percent to the national V-Day organization. In 2013, V-Day SDSU donated over $16,000. Our local beneficiary for 2014 is the San Diego Youth Services STARS program, which provides services to teen girls in San Diego who have been involved in commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. STARS provides support to empower youth to escape sexual exploitation by developing their inner strengths, building a sense of community, and supporting their reintegration into mainstream society. We do more than just talk about vaginas. We are dedicated activists fighting for women and girls--until the violence stops.

The SDSU Geography Department offers undergraduate, Masters and PhD programs with concentration in human and physical geography, and methodological technologies. The department now offers a new MS/BS program in Geographic Information Science. "True Beauties" Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 12, 1922, by seven young teachers: Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Vivian White Marbury, Cubena McClure, Bessie Downey Rhoades Martin, Hattie Mae Dulin Redford, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside. These women shared a vision of true sisterhood. Since the sorority's founding, chapters have been established throughout the U.S., Bermuda, U.S. Virgin Islands, Germany and Korea. Guided by its slogan, "Greater Service, Greater Progress". Delta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority In. was Chartered June 5th, 1970 on the campus of San Diego State University. In fall 2013, San Diego State University will have a brand-new student union! Aztec Student Union will be the campus "living room" for us to study, socialize, meditate, connect, relax and reboot. As part of the project, the university is pursuing LEED Platinum certification with the U.S. Green Building Council – a distinction that would make the building the first LEED Platinum-certified facility in the entire Cal State University system. Once completed, the new 200,891-square-foot student union will provide an energized hub of campus life for the entire Aztec community. The building will be twice the size of Aztec Center and will house recreation facilities, meeting spaces, study lounges and the University Information Center. Students will also be able to enjoy three new dining facilities with outdoor seating, a convenience store, retail services for travel, as well as a grill restaurant. Additionally, the building will hold a new student organization center offering commuter and graduate student lounges, as well as an Cross-Cultural Center that will include the Women’s Resource Area and the LGBT Resource Area.

We are a 501(c)3 public non-profit organization here to provide quality housing and support for SDSU students so they may succeed in college while facing life challenges. We provide fun events, useful workshops, listening ears, and guidance, in an effort to connect students to a positive environment and home away from home as they work towards a college degree.

The School, with over 400 students, is one of the largest professional schools on campus. The School has trained approximately 4,500 social workers who carry professional leadership responsibilities in the social service arena not only in California but also around the world. While most graduates have earned a license in social work (Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW), many are executive administrators in social service organizations.
