The Helmsley Building is a 35-story building located at 230 Park Avenue between East 45th and East 46th Streets in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, which was built in 1929 as the New York Central Building, and was designed by Warren & Wetmore, the architects of Grand Central Terminal, in the Beaux-Arts style. Before the erection of the Pan Am Building - now the MetLife Building - this building stood out over the city's second most prestigious avenue as the tallest structure in the great "Terminal City" complex around Grand Central.Traffic exits and enters the Park Avenue Viaduct through the building, through two portals, one for uptown traffic and one for downtown. Trump World Tower is a residential skyscraper at 845 United Nations Plaza (First Avenue between 47th and 48th Streets) in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Construction began in 1999 and concluded in 2001.History and designDesigned by the architect Costas Kondylis, the building is 861 feet high and has 72 constructed floors (but lists 90 stories on elevator panels) with curtain wall facades of dark, bronze-tinted glass. The resulting large windows allow for extensive views of the East River and Midtown Manhattan. The building is constructed with concrete to improve its wind resistance.In 1961, the 18-story United Engineering Center was built on the site. The Center was destroyed to make way for the Trump World Tower. In 1997, Trump and his partners, including the Daewoo Corp., a South Korean conglomerate, signed a deal to purchase the site from the United Engineering Trustees for $52 million. It was completed in 1986 and has 34 floors. The building was designed by John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson. The building receives its name from its shape and color, which resemble a tube of lipstick.The company that owned the building, Metropolitan 885 Third Avenue LLC, filed for bankruptcy in 2010 after overpaying for the property.DescriptionAt three levels the Lipstick Building's wall is set back in response to Manhattan's zoning regulation, which requires the building to recede from the street within its spatial envelope, to increase the availability of light at street level. The result is a form that looks as though it could retract telescopically. The shape, which is unusual in comparison to surrounding buildings, uses less space at the base than a regular skyscraper of quadrilateral footprint would use. This provides more room for the heavy pedestrian traffic along Third Avenue.At the base, the building stands on columns which act as an entrance for a vast post-modern hall. They are two stories high and separate the street from the nine-meter (30 ft) high lobby. 252 East 57th Street is a mixed use modernist style residential skyscraper in New York City, United States developed by the World Wide Group and Rose Associates, Inc. Under construction since 2013, 252 East 57th Street is part of a surge of redevelopment of 57th Street into a luxury residential corridor that has been named "Billionaires’ Row." The residential tower will be 712 feet tall with condominiums starting on the 36th floor. The building will also include the construction of two new schools and 78,000 square feet of retail space, in addition to a Whole Foods Market. The residential tower and additional retail portions are anticipated to open in late 2016.DesignThe building was designed by Roger Duffy of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the architectural firm who was responsible for the neighboring Time Warner Center and Lever House, as well as One World Trade Center and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. The building’s curved glass design is based on Alvar Aalto’s Aalto Vase of Finnish design created in 1936. The interiors are designed by AD100 designer Daniel Romauldez. L’Dor V’Dor… from generation to generation Sutton Place Synagogue was founded more than 100 years ago, in 1901, as Congregation Orach Chayim (later Beth Hamidrash Hachhagadol Talmud Torah), but our roots extend back even before the dawn of the 20th century. That’s when a small Jewish population in the eastern portion of Manhattan’s Midtown area – a neighborhood populated mainly by people of German and Irish ancestry – banded together as a community in order to perpetuate the Jewish life they had left behind in traveling to America. We’ve never been able to substantiate the rumor that the first quarters of the new synagogue they formed were in a loft above a pool hall, but suffice it to say that Sutton Place Synagogue has evolved from truly humble origins! A handful of locations and expansions later, all in the Sutton Place area, the new Sutton Place Synagogue was officially opened on September 3, 1975 at 225 East 51st Street. We originally drew from United Nations families but now attract active members from throughout the city and its suburbs. A common thread throughout our entire proud history is a sense of spiritual and cultural cohesiveness that has brought generations of New York’s Jewish population, regardless of background, together as a single, forward-looking community. It’s with that sense of pride and foresight that Sutton Place Synagogue continues to write its history, each and every day, with new generations of members building on the legacy of our previous generations.

Our high ratio of staff to student; class size limit; use of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to manage behavior and provide reinforcement, and our staff’s unique skill set, enables the children who participate to make progress, which in many cases is the ability to participate.
