Located inside Atlanta’s hottest new spot, Ponce City Market, Hop’s Chicken cheerfully welcomes guests with a large wall-painted menu as they enter the take-out stand’s cue. Scalloped tiles cover the inside walls and white-washed wood surrounds the large walk-up window, as the smell of southern fried chicken and biscuits build anticipation for the mouth-watering meal to come. Hopkins first garnered attention for his fried chicken when he added it as a weekly Sunday Supper special at Restaurant Eugene. It continues to be offered on a limited basis for select holiday weekends. He then added Nashville-style hot chicken to the menu at Holeman and Finch Public House, a dish that continually evolves with the seasons. Hop’s Chicken offers chicken biscuits, coffee and orange juice for breakfast each morning. The full menu includes fried chicken by the piece, half and whole bird; chicken biscuits and a chicken sandwich; along with a selection of seasonal side dishes like tomato and cucumber salad and black-eyed peas.
