The historic 1923 Pierson’s Blacksmith Shop is now a steakhouse, bar and lounge serving distinctive bold cuisine. Stone and brick walls, copper bar top, subtle lighting and leather upholstery create a casually-elegant ambience with cozy seating areas. The sophisticated comfort food meals are attractively plated with delicious accompaniments. "The Tomahawk," a 24 ounce bone in Ribeye is a customer favorite! Other not-to-be-missed dishes are the Cider-brined pork chops, The Shrimp and Grits, the Mac and Cheese flight, and crab corn dogs. Any of organic and natural, dry aged steaks prepared delicately in exquisite sauces or served simply, ala carte are delicious as well. Desserts are to die for, especially the show-stopping Fostered bananas split, prepared table side. Bruneau's South Philly Cuisine is owned and operated by Ron & Andrea Brown. What's in our Name? Ron was raised in the inner city of Philadelphia in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the country, only a few blocks from where the classic Rocky movies were filmed. As you can imagine, life was tough growing up in Philly especially with a name like Ronald Brown. Ron, who was an only child wished that he had older brothers to look out for him instead of struggling to make a name for himself alone on the streets. He often told his parents that his life would have been easier if they had given some some tough Italian name like Bruno. Years later he moved to Bend, Oregon and got engaged to his beloved wife, Andrea. She was amused by his story and intrigued to learn what the name Bruno meant. She had found in years past that God often spoke to her through the meaning of names and thought it would be fun to see what Bruno really meant. Surprise! Surprise! Bruno was the German name for "Brown"! With great joy she declared to Ron that he had always been who he always wanted to be - Brown Brown!. If you want to know why we chose to spell our business name with the French spelling for Bruno - "Bruneau", then you'll have to ask Ron for the rest of the story. Why Food? Ron has always loved food and gone out of his way to find successful but unassuming, hole-in-the-wall, multigenerational Greek and Italian restaurants. As a self-proclaimed food critic, Ron has been under-impressed with the cuisine in Central Oregon and wanted to bring the food that he loved and that had impacted his life from the East Coast to Bend. After an exhausting but successful 20 years in the corporate world, Ron discovered a love for cooking. He has cooked many meals for the homeless, and the men at the Shepherd's House (a local shelter with a long term program) look forward to his regular meals which always include fresh ingredients and an extra touch of care. From the numerous events he has privately catered to the regular dinner parties he and his wife have had entertaining friends, the constant echo has been, "When are you opening your restaurant?" Now! We are opening our food business to the public and it begins with this food cart. Bruneau's menu includes authentic Philadelphia Maglio Sausage and Meats, imported cheeses, and the finest San Marzano tomatoes imported from Italy. In creating the menu we spared no expense in having the famous Amoroso Roll delivered overnight to Bend in order to have Big Eds, a local artisan bakery, replicate the quality, freshness, and distinctive taste. Come experience out our true South Philly hospitality. Mangia! Mangia! ...Eat! Eat!

Traditionally a very rural cuisine, Northern Thai food is an experience for all five senses. We never frown on using your hands as utensils - just don’t expect chopsticks here! The most significant difference with Northern Thai fair is that nearly every meal is accompanied with 'khao niew', sticky Jasmine rice meant for eating with your hands. Best enjoyed when formed into small croquettes, the sticky rice is dipped in the fresh chili pastes and sauces that are most prominent in Chiang Mai and its surrounding areas. Fresh and crunchy vegetables are served with every sauce, dip, and paste. Sorry folks, no Pad Thai here either! Our menu is not divided into courses, but rather into separate categories that make up a complete traditional Northern Thai meal. Dishes are prepared for sharing, and we encourage mixing & matching menu items. A Northern Thai meal is a communal event - so have some fun while you’re our guest! Chiang Mai is near and dear to our hearts, which means every dish crafted at the Wild Rose comes from a family recipe. So, Bend...welcome to our family! We’ll be servin’ up sticky rice here for a long while.
