RWFDC was founded in 1994 to strengthen and stabilize the city's north corridor which includes 10 neighborhoods and over 40,000 residents. We have completed well over 100 homes via new construction or rehab, and have served as an anchor in the community for over 20 years. The RWFDC did some research on the youth in our area. Based on various community meetings and surveys distributed, it was determined that there was a need for the Baden Enrichment Center. Since the conception of the center we have served over 600 youth within a year of existence. The Baden Enrichment Center (BEC) is an organization which exists under the parent organization Riverview West Florissant Development Corporation (RWFDC). The Baden Enrichment Center provides a variety of activities to promote health of mind, body and soul for our area youth who would otherwise not have such activities available within their community. Programs in the center include group/individual counseling, boxing, basketball, computer literacy, academic enrichment, anti- bullying classes and an overall development of each individual. The center offers a safe, healthy stable environment to learn and expand our horizons. Another program under the Riverview West Florissant Development umbrella is the Beautification program which began in 2006 to address the lawn care needs of an aging population and the employment needs of area youth. Yearly, the program begins in June and concludes in September. Services are provided in a bi-weekly rotation between the hours of 7am to 12pm, Monday through Thursday. The Baden Enrichment Center is a feeder program for the Beautification program, whereas youth from the BEC are trained and hired for lawn maintenance work. Additionally, youth are also trained in financial literacy as well as assured in development of employment skills for their future. RWFDC is under the direction of Executive Director Antionette (Toni) Cousins.

The Empowerment Network, Inc (TEN) is a 501(c)(3) federally recognized nonprofit organization incorporated under Missouri State statutes. Over the past five years we have been very active in the struggle against Prostate Cancer across the Saint Louis Metropolitan area. While The Empowerment Network, Inc. is relatively new as a group, our many years of service to academe and the community has proven to be invaluable in this endeavor. Members of our staff and board have over 150 years combined experience in service at the community and academic levels. TEN has developed and maintained successful on-going partnerships with: the Betty J. Kerr People’s Health Center; 100 Black Men of Saint Louis; The Call to Oneness; Better Family Life; Saint Louis City Department of Public Health; 27th Ward Alderman Greg Carter; the Saint Louis University School of Public Health and Washington University’s Siteman Cancer Center. Recently, TEN celebrated the opening of our Cancer Center located at 6000 West Florissant, St. Louis, Missouri 63136. This new Center affords us the opportunity to expand our services to include other forms of cancer across larger populations of underserved and hard to reach community residents.
