The FitRec features a 18,000 square foot weight training and cardiovascular conditioning area, a 1/7 mile indoor elevated jogging and walking track, and racquetball and squash courts. The Aquatics area includes a Competition Pool, a Recreation Pool and a lazy river. In addition, the building is home to The Barreca Indoor Climbing Wall, a 230-seat dance studio/theater, multiple gymnasium courts and fitness rooms and the Ryan Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Holmes Sports and Fitness Center, a $10 million, 60,000 square foot facility located just steps from Simmons' nine residence halls and Bartol Dining Hall. Opened in 1989, the Center houses state-of-the-art training equipment, plus hardwood courts, an indoor running area, swimming pool, and much more. In 1992, the Holmes Sports Center received the Athletic Business Architectural Award.
