Colorado Parks and Wildlife sponsors Schools and Outdoor Learning Environments (SOLE), Project WILD, and the National Archery in the Schools Program (R) in Colorado as well as providing a host of other resources and training opportunities for Colorado Educators.
The “Hug a Hunter” and “Hug an Angler” advertisements are part of The Wildlife Council’s media-based campaign designed to educate the general public about the benefits of wildlife, wildlife management, and wildlife-related recreational opportunities in Colorado, specifically hunting and fishing. The Wildlife Council, formally known as the Colorado Wildlife Management Public Education Advisory Council (WMPEAC), was conceived and developed by a coalition of hunters, anglers and conservationists working together with livestock and agriculture organizations, and created by Colorado legislature in 1998.
Mission Statement: To establish and facilitate ongoing communication, involvement, support and recognition between National Guard families and the National Guard, in partnership that promotes the best in both. HOW? This is facilitated through education, outreach services and partnerships by leveraging resources, training and constantly capitalizing on new capabilities, concepts and technological advances.
