Worland, the county seat of Washakie County, is located within the Big Horn Basin and along the Big Horn River in beautiful Northwestern Wyoming. We are fortunate to have easy access to the Big Horn Mountains to the east, the Absaroka Mountains to the west and the Wind River Mountains to the south including the Wind River Canyon. A community hub for the 5,487 people who reside within the city limits, Worland has a proud heritage of initiative, innovation and just plain grit. Since 1914, UW Extension has helped Wyoming citizens and communities respond to challenges and changes. We have offices in each of the state’s 23 counties and the Wind River Indian Reservation. Although our roots are in agriculture, UW Extension has broadened its educational mission to encompass many of the contemporary challenges facing Wyoming’s people and its rural communities.
