Hattiesburg Heart and Vascular is a new, comprehensive cardiovascular clinic founded in conjunction with Wesley Medical Center and Community Health Systems to provide thoughtful, compassionate, state-of-the-art care to the people of southern Mississippi. Our two Duke University - trained Interventional Cardiologists, Dr. Mark E. Campbell and Dr. Charles E. Mayes, Jr, provide a wide array of services that include general cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, invasive cardiology and interventional cardiology (both coronary and peripheral vascular). We offer in-office consultation as well as basic cardiac testing from EKG’s to stress tests to cardiovascular ultrasound. In addition, we provide comprehensive hospital coverage including ICU care, angiography and treatment of acute heart attacks. Dr. Campbell and Dr. Mayes are board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Our philosophy is based on a belief in patient-centered, personalized care, communication and accessibility. Dr. Mark E.Campbell received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Keesler Medical Center. Dr. Campbell completed a fellowship in cardiology at Wilford Hall Medical Center and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Duke University Medical Center. He is certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Surgery. Dr.Charles E. Mayes, Jr. received his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Southwestern, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Mayes completed a fellowship in both cardiology and interventional cardiology at Duke University Medical Center. He is certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Surgery.
