The vision of the Wesley House Association is to be a professional, highly-motivated, financially stable, and socially conscious organization with a passion for improving the overall quality of life in the community we serve. The channels of communication within the community will be open and a "can-do" atmosphere will prevail. Creative problem solving will be valued and ambitious fundraising and revenue generation encouraged in order to fund and support far reaching programs and services. We will implement innovative, reality-based programs and services that: • Ensure that nurtured, well-rounded children develop into productive, wholesome citizens • Enable families to be healthy and valued neighbors • Ensure that senior adults are secure, respected, and active participants in the community. As a result, we will be recognized as an effective organization with broad-based community recognition.
Founded in 2004, HopeBUILD is a young 501©(3) not-for-profit organization that started as a farmer’s market to provide fresh produce in low income neighborhoods. In 2007, in an effort to build greater capacity and make the program more sustainable, HopeBUILD established its first garden, run by community volunteers. Since that time we have assisted in the revitalization of more than 10 community gardens and to date, HopeBUILD continues to be involved with communities and gardens including Fresh Starts Garden, The Learning Tree Intergenerational Center and Union Memorial United Methodist Church garden.
