LGO Hospitality envisioned it as an Arizona roadhouse serving food that pays tribute to the heritage and history of the area. As in America, flavors are big, portions are mindful and value is long. Family-owned Tee Pee Mexican Food has been serving the Valley since 1958 – the bar/restaurant is located in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. The Tee Pee was started by Tony and Anna Duran. Tony bar-tended while Anna did the cooking. During the late 1970’s their daughter Kathy and son-in-law Zip started to run the family business. Now they are the owners and are teaching their children, Jefe and Julianna, to run the business. You can always find a family member at the Tee Pee – your server is probably a niece or nephew. You will always be greeted at the door by a friendly face. Our Manager, Shannon, started out bar backing in the late 1980’s and Tony Duran III is also following in the footsteps of the family tradition. We are all family at the Tee Pee! The Tee Pee is nothing fancy. Like others in Phoenix it has often been referred to as a mom & pop restaurant. We serve our meals with paper napkins while you relax in one of our original booths. Carmel's is located in a repurposed 1940's house that has changed over the years from a bakery to a restaurant. This new friendly “urban chic” décor uses a combination of vintage, mid-century modern and classic furniture. A long wood counter top is punctuated with a vintage wood frontage. Seating combines a mix of long, brown leather booths and old "schoolhouse," natural wood chairs. Two sit-down counters with comfortable leather high top chairs are the perfect vantage points for people watching or laptop work. Exposed ceiling rafters and a stained natural concrete floor infuse Carmel’s with a slightly industrial edge. And, local artists work is featured throughout to inject energy, movement and a sense of community.
