Sottomarino is San Francisco's new urban winery located on Treasure Island with breathtaking views of the SF Bay waterfront and the Bay Bridge. We focus on Italian varietals, currently offering a Pinot Grigio, Muscat Canelli, Primitivo and Lagrein. Translated to “Submarine” in Italian, Sottomarino’s tasting room is housed in an original World War II submarine-like training vessel. Authentic parts and markings still intact from the era. Winemaker Studios, a collective group of urban wineries on Treasure Island. Comprised of Treasure Island's urban winemaking players Vie Winery, Sol Rouge Winery and Sottomarino Winery, Winemaker Studios brings together great winemakers to provide a one-of-a-kind San Francisco wine tasting experience for individuals, private events and unique corporate gatherings. Vie Winery Established in 2004 as one of San Francisco’s original urban wineries, Vie Winery produces high quality, limited production Rhone varietal and Zinfandel based wines from several of the finest vineyards in California. Recognized as one of the “Top 100 Wines of the Year” by the SF Chronicle, VIE continues to produce wine in small lots and in very limited quantities. Sol Rouge The vineyard is a family estate located in the Red Hills Appellation at elevations over 1800 feet. The 70 acre estate focuses on producing wines from the grape varietals of Southern France's Rhone and Bordeaux regions. The tasting room is in a repurposed barn on Treasure Island, right along the bay and with amazing views of the city and bridge! Sottomarino Translated to “submarine” in Italian, Sottomarino Winery is housed in a submarine-like training vessel with breathtaking views of the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco Bay waterfront. Sottomarino is focused on Italian varietals made using old-world winemaking techniques that are meant to be enjoyed with friends, family and food.

At our last food and wine pairing I asked our winemakers what they would cook for St. Patrick’s Day and all three gave me the same answer...but the similarities stopped RIGHT THERE. These master chefs all began describing their mouthwatering recipes for Irish Stew, argued over over lamb or beef, with or without carrots, Guinness or red wine, barley or cabbage... about the only thing they agreed upon were the potatoes !!! And when it came to discussing the spices, I’ve never heard more spirited arguments both for and against rosemary. There really wasn’t much else to do but to showcase all three recipes.
