One bright morning, Tower Grove East resident Paul Whitsitt found himself staring down said broken coffee pot, then having to climb into his car and drive several miles to get an early morning brew for himself and partner David Rodgers. And thus the idea for Kitchen House Coffee was born: TGE needed its own neighborhood place. The coffee house is an extension of Whitsitt and Rodgers' urban farm on Michigan Avenue, Kitchen House Farm, named for the old kitchen house that still stands on the property. Well not really Thai in any familiar sense, but this is the United States- you gotta have an eye-catcher! While the stand at Soulard Farmers Market remains open every Saturday lunch, we now have a brick-and-mortar shop that owners Pierce and Lona live above with their two children Jane and Daniel.
