The Ukrainian American Community Center was founded in 1964 by Ukrainian immigrants who found a new life and homes in Northeast Minneapolis and formed a fraternal, community and cultural center to call their own. The UACC's mission is to promote, preserve and share Ukrainian heritage, traditions and culture by bringing together Ukrainian Americans and the broader Twin Cities community. Through activities such as traditional folk dance, music and the arts we build community, instill ethnic pride, and contribute to the cultural diversity of Minnesota. MACC does not hold animals or take partial payments.Hours are M-F 3-7pm and Sat 11:30-3:30. See below for adoption requirements. Rescue groups must be pre-approved to pulll animals from MACC. Because new animals become available every day, this page often doew not contain all of the animals in need. It is always best to visit the city's website to view ALL animals - those who are lost and available for adoption or trasnfer to rescue. www.minneapolismn.gov/animals From the MACC website: It's EASY to Adopt a Shelter Pet You are welcome to come to the animal shelter during our public adoption hours. Feel free to walk through our state-of-the-art facility, interact with the pets, take an adoptable dog into the Adoption Room for some quiet alone time. Or, spend some time in our Cat Room getting to know the felines. When you have made the right choice in a pet for you or your family... •Complete an application •Pay adoption fee •Be at least 18 years of age •Have current picture identification that shows your age and current address •Purchase pet license (if you are a resident of the City of Minneapolis) •Commit to behavior training, providing medical care, and giving humane treatment and companionship throughout the life of the animal •Check your lease to be sure you can have pets and that there are no size, weight or breed limitations. MACC reserves the right to deny any adoption application. MACC does not hold animals and adopts on a first come, first serve basis. No partial payments or down payments are accepted. Although all animals are given an exam prior to becoming available for adoption, MACC cannot guarantee that these animals have not been exposed to an illness prior to coming to our shelter. Adoption Fees for Dogs and Cats: Adult Cats $60 to $100 Kittens (Under 1 Year) $110 to $175 Adult Dogs $110 to $250 Puppies (Under 1 Year) $200 - $250 Minneapolis residents must license their pet at the time of adoption. Dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies, distemper and parvo-virus, and given a single dose of deworming. Cats are microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and PRC/feline distemper, & given Revolution for deworming + flea/tick. Adoption Fees for Small Pets: We often have animals other than dogs and cats available for adoption, including rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, birds and fish. Adoption fees for small animals range from $3 to $50. In addition to our adoption program, MACC works with 50+ rescue groups to rehome animals that are not quite ready for adoption. Contact any of the rescue groups for available adoptable animals.

The mission of the Tergar Meditation Community is to make the ancient practice of meditation accessible to the modern world. For centuries, the practice of meditation has been used by countless individuals to transform suffering into joy and confusion into wisdom. Tergar meditation and study programs are designed to facilitate this transformation. Under the guidance of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, a remarkable teacher celebrated for his ability to make the practice of meditation accessible to people of all backgrounds, the Tergar community of meditation centers and practice groups provides a comprehensive course of meditation training and study, with programs for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
Grace Center for Community Life Welcomes You Grace Center for Community Life a 501c3 non-profit, a community center in the heart of northeast Minneapolis, vibrant and bustling with daily activity. While still in its early stages of growth and development, Grace Center's Board of Directors goals are to give home to activities that benefit and support our community needs. Although some of the activities here are our own creation, we look to support growing groups by providing a home in which to nurture their mission. During the weekdays Grace Center houses two charter schools, a daycare, and a food shelf. In the evenings and on weekends we host basketball teams and other gym activities, as well as weekly meetings, business retreats/trainings, kids camps, weddings, fundraising events, community dinners and church services. Whether you are looking for an existing service offered here or have a need for one time space for a wedding, meeting, or other special event, or if you have a mission you are trying to grow that would benefit by calling Grace Center home we want to hear from you today.

The Northeast Minneapolis Tool Library offers the community access over ownership. This means we don’t need to own costly tools for a one-time use, but instead allows consistent, low-cost access to the tools we need, when we need them.
EDIT is comprised of three core programs: Awareness Through Performance (ATP), GeneroCITY, and PhotoVoice. These programs use theater, service learning and photography to promote positive social change. Each empowers youth to express themselves artistically and to share that artistic experience with diverse audiences. In addition, Meda hosts the Minnesota Procurement Technical Assistance Center (Meda PTAC) that helps all Minnesota businesses pursue government procurement opportunities. Meda PTAC offers specialized support for Women, Veteran, and HUB Zone businesses. Meda also operates a business development center under cooperative agreement with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Minneapolis MBDA Business Center connects Minnesota Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with business opportunities. Meda is also a U.S. Department of the Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
