This classic "jet age" Hotel embodies the characteristics of the Miami Modern style, including an open-air plan, jalousie windows, geometric designs, overhanging roof lines, stone facing, and sculptural elements depicting marine life and other nautical themes. At the time of construction, B. Robert Swartburg was one of the most prominent and innovative architects in Miami-Dade County, creating such notable structures as the Miami Civic Center Complex and the Delano Hotel. This classic Miami Modern Hotel is the jewel of Biscayne Boulevard. It's being renovated, redone, and remixed, keeping the 1950's vibe and updating it.
The Vagabond Restaurant was a project collaboration with Avra Jane and Dahia Lagoa, Alvaro Perez Miranda, and Chef Alex Chang Part restaurant, part bar, and part art gallery, Vagabond Restaurant and Bar redefined Miami’s dining scene, creating a modern salon of cultural experiences – with inspired, sophisticated food and artisanal libations. The Vagabond closed in July 2016.
