Mission Statement U.S. Army South (ARSOUTH) conducts and supports multinational operations and security cooperation in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in order to counter transnational threats and strengthen regional security in defense of the homeland. New Horizons: Humanitarian and civic assistance operations provided to the people of Haiti. Beyond the Horizon: Humanitarian and civic assistance operations provided to the people of Central and South America and the Caribbean. Fuerzas Aliadas Humanitarias: Regionally oriented emergency response exercise with Partner Nation disaster management agencies. Joint and Combined Engagements: Peace Keeping Operations: Multi-echelon command and control exercises executed at the operational and tactical level. PANAMAX: Operational exercise focused on the defense of the Panama Canal by a Multi-National Task Force. Reintegration: U.S. Army South is the Army’s executive agent for Phase III of reintegration for U.S. personnel rescued or returned from captivity. Command's Enduring Priorities Flexibility, agility and responsiveness are woven into the fabric of every ARSOUTH mission. In order to meet the continued requirements for Theater Security Cooperation and Contingency Operations, ARSOUTH will work closely with the community of interest for the AOR, including joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multilateral partner nations.
