Balance is an Uptown Minneapolis fitness studio and gym offering personal training, small group personal training classes, sport specific coaching, nutrition guidance and wellness coaching. Balance classes combine a circuit of Kettlebells, TRX, strength training, cardio intervals and core conditioning for a full body workout. Personal trainers who lead the classes can adapt each workout to meet your individual fitness needs and abilities. Aerial Fitness: This is an all levels program where students of all skill and fitness levels learn how to safely climb, relax, dance and play on the aerial silks by performing a variety of exercises, postures, and sequences that progressively build and condition muscles to be more fit and flexible. All of the exercises are relative to tricks that become accessible with the strength built over time. This program is designed to develop with you and your progress as you grow your wings to fly. You will sweat. Bring a bottle of water and maybe a towel. Clothing should cover the back. Leotards, unitards, and leggings are awesome, or a long shirt that can be tucked in. Pants that cut off about the ankle are ideal. You'll be upside-down, and you want the back of your knee to stay covered. For the most part, yoga clothes work really well. No Jeans, no belts, no metal on the silks please. Long hair? Bring a hair binder. Other Classes and Workshops Available:Private Aerial Lessons:($100 total to schedule 1-4 participants)Acro Yoga Basics:(Group classes and private lessons starting at $100)Come solo, bring a friend or two, and Build Balance as you Learn to Fly and/or Base. This very dynamic class will give you everything you need to know about how to begin a partner fitness practice at home and give you several ideas on how to integrate multiple people into your performances through lifts, transitions and poses. You will learn important safety and conditioning practices, some basic yoga flow, partner yoga, multi person body balance and flying/acrobatic yoga. Several of these principles will be broken down in class to specifically focus on improving your performances for upcoming shows. Pranayama Kundalini Vinyasa Yoga: (Group classes and private lessons starting at $100) This is an all levels fusion yoga class designed to work with Breath and Kundalini. A variety of Pranayama/Breath techniques are used to center the mind and find focus, to warm and cool the body, as well as relax and energize it. The Asana/posture sequences work with flow and are designed to take the body on a journey that will prepare it for energy work. The Meditations in this class are designed to allow you to visualize the subtle energies in your body and slowly learn to feel, understand, control and refine them. This is a hands on class, and I will be walking around the class, learning your yoga practice, providing adjustments and modifications to help you bring your practice to the next level. You will sweat. Bring a Yoga Mat if you've got one, A bottle of water, maybe a towel, and some loose comfortable clothing. Fire Safety for Fire Performance 101: (Group classes and private lessons starting at $100) These work shops are intended for event producers, business owners, local fire authorities, and/or fire performers. These work shops are designed to educate participants on "common sense" rules of thumb, fire performances industry standards, questions to ask or expect to be asked, and the relevant regulations found in the National Fire Protection Association and International Fire Code. Fire Prop Construction 101: (Group classes and private lessons starting at $100) These work shops are designed to educate participants on proper materials, design, and methods for constructing a variety of props. Classes can include the cost of materials so participants can build props with guidance. Fire Fleshing/Vapor Breathing work shops:(Group classes and private lessons starting at $100) These work shops are either all levels or advanced, and teach a variety of techniques that will help you conquer your fear of fire as you learn to hold it in your hand, wipe it across your skin and watch it rise as rings breathed from your lips. Fire Spinning and Object Manipulation workshops: (Group classes and private lessons starting at $100) These workshops are designed for either basic, intermediate or advanced and typically feature poi, staves, dragon staff, or sphere play/contact juggling.

We really like to emphasize the advantages to cross training and developing all of your bodies attributes such as strength, endurance, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and coordination. We are proud of our ability to work with and benefit clients of all types from the 20 something athlete that is preparing for athletic competition to the 75 year old individual who is trying to maintain strength and bone density as they age to keep their body highly functional for as long as possible. Many of our clients are busy professionals who understand the value of having a set appointment with a prepared, personalized workout so that it fits in to their day and offers them all of the tools that they need for making their body look better and get drastically healthier along the way.
