First opened in 2008 on historic 6th street, Austin native Chef Shawn Cirkiel pays homage to his family with Parkside, named for the housing project in the Bronx where his father grew up. Before “farm-to-table,” “house made,” and casual but elevated service became the calling cards of Austin, Parkside has now set the standard for downtown dining for the better part of a decade. AMPED is an EDM nightclub that stays true to its name. AMPED. At its core, AMPED is a high-energy dance club. Our musical range is fairly large. We play all genres of EDM including, but not limited to, techno, house, trap, dub step, trance, and all their respective sub genres. Our focus is mainly local DJ’s, as we like to stay true to what Austin and Historic 6th are. We have a large college following, so we really cater to the universities by hosting Fraternity/Sorority, and other college organizational parties. AMPED’s most unique feature is the retractable roof. Being in Austin, it is almost a necessity to have some form of patio or rooftop. We decided that having a cool feature like a retractable roof would set us apart from the rest of the dance clubs around town.
