Calvary Chapel Point Loma is a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our first priority is loving God and having a living relationship with Him. We seek to be conformed into the image of Christ by the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. CCPL began in 1991 as a little group meeting at the local elementary school. In the years since, God has abundantly blessed us with a great church family worshiping and serving the Lord together, being built up by the study of God’s Word, which we believe is God’s "owner’s manual" for life. Our desire is to reach Point Loma, our country and the whole world for Jesus Christ. We are city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We believe all people need and should have the privilege of knowing Christ Jesus and the love of God. OUR PASTOR: Pastor Michael Hickey has been attending Calvary Chapel Point Loma since the early days in 1993. In that time he has served the Lord in many capacities. In 2005 he became the assistant pastor, and in 2008 Michael became the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Point Loma. Pastor Michael is a trained molecular biologist who has done extensive work in cancer research. But teaching the Bible and sharing God's love is his greatest joy.
Our mission is to provide inspiring and life changing Christian resources and to support our church in its commitment to spreading Pervasive Hope.
While seeking Christ in our life as our main focus, we sometimes come across questions that throw us off, when it comes to being a Christian we are always looked at under a microscope. Well to help out we at The Rock Church are ready to SAVE, EQUIP, and SEND you out into the world. Bringing Pervasive Hope to our broken nation. The purpose of Apologetics is to both answer the objections or barriers to faith in defense of the faith for believers and unbelievers (Jude 3-4, I Peter 3:15, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5), and to reveal the foolishness or inadequacy of any opposing world-view. All of this is done in the context of giving answers or reasons for both strengthening a Christian's faith and for the evangelization of our culture.
Neighborly is a Christian outreach program focused on building trustworthy and meaningful relationships through community gatherings, safety planning and bible study. Neighborly Coordinators invite the neighbors on their block to monthly outreach opportunities, volunteer activities and can offer resources to help neighbors grow in faith. Galatians 5:14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Being Neighborly is more than living next door, its about having an open one :)
Rock Horse Ministry exists to touch people with the hope of Jesus, softening their hearts through interaction with horses, and to provide fellowship and community outreach opportunities for Christians who have a love for horses.

High Tech High Media Arts, often referred to as HTHMA, is a public charter high school in San Diego, California.DescriptionThe school uses Project Based Learning to teach students. HTHMA teaches grades 9-12 and has approximately 400 students. It is the fourth school in the High Tech High charter schools coalition of schools, attempting to change some of the ways most students in the United States are taught.TeachersHTH schools seek teachers with relevant industry experience. For example, Humanities teachers have published professionally or attended professional school such as law school, occasionally medical school. Science teachers are recruited from industries such as engineering and the beef jerky manufacturing sector. Academic teachers are recruited from many major colleges.HistoryHigh Tech High was originally conceived by a group of about 40 civic and high tech industry leaders in San Diego, assembled by the Economic Development Corporation and the Business Roundtable, who met regularly from 1996-1998 to discuss the challenge of finding qualified individuals for the high-tech work force. In particular, members were concerned about the “digital divide” that resulted in low numbers of women and ethnic minority groups entering the fields of math, science, and engineering. Gary Jacobs, Director of Education Programs at Qualcomm, and Kay Davis, Director of the Business Roundtable, were key participants in these discussions. In late 1998 the group voted to start a charter school and engaged Larry Rosenstock, then President of Price Charities in San Diego, as the founding principal. The founding group was clear about its intent: to create a school where students would be passionate about learning and would acquire the basic skills of work and citizenship. Rosenstock, a former carpentry teacher, lawyer, and high school principal who had recently directed the U.S. Department of Education’s New Urban High School project, brought a vision and a sense of the design principles by which this mission might be accomplished.
