Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery is a cemetery in Los Angeles at 1831 West Washington Boulevard in the Pico-Union district, southwest of Downtown.It was founded as Rosedale Cemetery in 1884, when Los Angeles was a small city of around 28,000 people, on 65acre of land running from Washington to Venice Boulevard (then 16th Street) between Normandie Avenue and Walton and Catalina Streets, and often used by California politicians, notably former Mayors of the City of Los Angeles. The interments include pioneers and members of leading families who had a conspicuous place in Los Angeles institutions and the state.Rosedale was the first cemetery in Los Angeles open to all races and creeds, and was the first to adopt the concept of the new approach of design called lawn cemeteries, where the grounds are enhanced to surround the burial places of the dead with beautiful and decorative trees, shrubs, flowers, natural scenery and works of monumental art. Among the more traditional structures, headstones and mausoleums, the cemetery also has several pyramid crypts. In 1887, the second crematory in the United States was opened at Rosedale Cemetery. It was also the first crematory west of the Rocky Mountains. The initial cremation took place on June 16, when the body of Mrs. Olive A. Bird (c. 1845–1886), wife of prominent physician O.B. Bird, was incinerated. By 1913, there had been 2,392 cremations performed at Rosedale. Next to the cemetery at 1605 S. Catalina Street, is another cremation facility, the domed, observatory shaped Chapel of the Pines Crematory.

Widney Alumni House is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 70) on the campus of the University of Southern California. It is the oldest university building in Southern California, having been in continuous use since 1880. Widney Alumni House has been designated as a California Historical Landmark (No. 536), as Original Building of the University of Southern California. The landmark plaque states,"Dedicated on September 4, 1880, this original building of the University of Southern California has been in use continuously for educational purposes since its doors were first opened to students on October 6, 1880, by the university's first president, Marion McKinley Bovard. The building was constructed on land donated by Ozro W. Childs, John G. Downey and Isaias W. Hellman under the guiding hand of Judge Robert M. Widney, the university’s leading founder."

Expo Park/USC is an at-grade light rail station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It is located at Exposition Boulevard and Trousdale Parkway, directly between USC and Exposition Park, in the University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.It also serves the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the future Banc of California Stadium. The station's platforms slope down slightly toward the east, in order to accommodate the line's descent into a tunnel which passes under Figueroa Street.The station's art was created by artist Robbert Flick. The untitled installation includes sequences of photographs taken on the boulevards near the station, creating a document of the local people and places as they were when the station was built.
