Downtown Disney (officially the Downtown Disney District) is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment area located at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Downtown Disney District is located between the Disneyland Resort's two theme parks and its hotels. It is smaller than its Walt Disney World counterpart. Currently, no admission ticket is required for Downtown Disney District. Parking is free for the first three hours (or first five hours with validation) on most days. However, on very popular days, such as July 4 and New Year's Eve, there is an automatic parking fee collected when you enter the lot. California's Downtown Disney District was designed to attract local residents and to encourage extended stays in the resort district. One side of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, and one side of the Disneyland Hotel's Adventure Tower face Downtown Disney, providing a view of the area.

Hi Everyone, I’m Kelly Rogers and this blog is hobby turned reality. I taught business courses at Chapman University in Orange, California for years, and absolutely fell in love with the campus and the surrounding area. Old Town Orange is home to the famous Orange Circle and freckled with craftsman homes and antique shops. This is where my love for antiques began to develop. Trading Post 1908 started out with a small physical location at Vintiques Home Decor in Orange, California where our found treasures were displayed for sale in a small booth. Before we knew it we expanded from one booth to five. However, we wanted to be much more than items for sale and that’s why the online store and blog was created. After brainstorming more ways to expand with my long-time mentor, Jennifer Kerstner, we decided to partner. Jennifer is already a successful business owner, running a market research firm, and we share a deep love for antiques and the stories they tell. We wanted to create an online space to allow buyers and sellers of anything vintage, antique and handmade to come together in a much more comprehensive way than just an online store. Mainly, we wanted to help small vintage, antique and handmade sellers have a place to successfully market and advertise their businesses. The name Trading Post 1908 comes from two ideas: First, while I was watching Frozen with my girls, I asked my 5-year old daughter what she would call the store. Just then, the movie played the scene of Princess Anna stumbling across a trading post in the forest. My daughter asked what a trading post was and it clicked. Since ‘trading post’ is pretty generic I needed to personalize it.My friend Brittany Deneauthought of 1908 because it is the year my Great Grandma (Grandma GG) was born. I proudly display many of Grandma GG’s family heirlooms in my house and Brittany took note of my love for family history. This was the beginning of Trading Post 1908.
The L.A. Religious Edcuation Congress is the largest annual gathering of its kind in the world. The four-day event is held at the Anaheim (Calif.) Convention Center and is sponsored by the Los Angeles Office of Religious Education. Begun in 1956 as an "institute" for religious education (CCD) teachers, RECongress has grown to include people of all vocations and different faiths. In 1970 the event moved to the Anaheim Convention Center. Youth Day (Thursday) – Congress opens on Thursday with a day-long event for high school youth. This is an opportunity for students – not only from the Los Angeles Archdiocese but throughout California and the western states – to come together and share in Liturgy, workshops, entertainment and to experience the energy of a Youth Day Rally. Congress days (Friday-Sunday) – The remaining three-day weekend is open to adults and young adults and offers more than 200 speakers presenting over 300 workshops, in addition to lunchtime entertainment, evening concerts, 16 Liturgies in a variety of characters, the Exhibit Hall and much more. Free Exhibits (open to Registrants only) – One of the perks of Congress is the Exhibit Hall – held Friday through Sunday – showcasing over 200 companies ranging from religious art to music, and from publishing houses to educational institutions, in addition to our own represented Archdiocesan ministries. See our site, www.RECongress.org, for more information, pricing and registration.
