The First Church of Christ, Scientist, also known as The Mother Church, is the administrative headquarters and the mother church of the Church of Christ, Scientist, also known as the Christian Science church. The Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a Roman Catholic Basilica in Boston, Massachusetts, sometimes known as "The Mission Church".HistoryIn May 1869, Rev. James A. Healy, pastor of St. James’s Church in Boston, invited the Redemptorists to give a parish mission. Pleased with the success of the mission, Father Healy recommended to the Bishop that the religious order should establish a mission-house in Boston. That year Archbishop John J. Williams invited the Redemptorists to Boston. In September 1869 the Redemptorists acquired a site in Roxbury, then known as the Boston Highlands, on Parker Hill. Parker Hill was named for wealthy Boston merchant, John Parker, who occupied the summit of the hill during the eighteenth century. The five acre estate was known as Brinley Place, and included a grand house, Datchet House built in 1723 by prominent English officer Colonel Francis Brinley in memory of his ancestral home. Colonel Brinley died in 1765. Wealthy merchant Robert Pierpont purchased the house in 1773. Pierpont enlarged and enriched the house to such a degree that it became known as "Pierpont’s Castle".The Redemptorists built a modest wooden church on the location in 1870. This was to serve as a "mission house", a home base for priests traveling to distant parts of Massachusetts, Canada, and elsewhere. The church was dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The first mass was said on January 29, 1871. The original structure was located on the site where the rectory now stands.BuildingThe current church was designed by William Schickel and Isaac Ditmars of New York. The then German congregation broke ground in 1874. The Mission Church was constructed in Romanesque style, of Roxbury puddingstone, quarried from what is now Puddingstone Park, just down the block. An octagonal, cupola-topped lantern rises over a hundred feet above the crossing. The stained glass windows were made by Franz Mayer and Co. from Munich, Germany. Side altars were dedicated to the Holy Family and St. Patrick, respectively. The church was dedicated in 1878. At this time the church was not an ordinary parish in which all sacraments were administered, but was instead limited to penance and Holy Communion. Our Lady of Perpetual Help became a parish of the Archdiocese of Boston in 1883.

Roxbury Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 328 Warren Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The Gothic church building was designed by John C. Spofford and built in 1891 for a congregation organized in 1881. Built of Roxbury puddingstone, it has asymmetrical massing partitioned into polygonal sections. The tower at the northwest corner starts on a square base, rising with differently-shaped sections to a pyramidal roof. Half of the building's original construction cost was paid for by the Gilchrist brothers, owners of the locally prominent Gilchrist Department Store.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Eliot Congregational Church is an historic Congregational church at 56 Dale Street, at the corner of 118-120 Walnut Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The main church building was designed by J. Williams Beal and built in 1873. It is built out of Roxbury puddingstone. A second chapel was added in 1889, and a two-story addition was added 1899-1915. The main chapel has a stained glass window manufactured by the studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

NUBIA is a nonprofit organization, located at 149 Roxbury Street Roxbury, MA 02119. We running several programs to build strong community. NUBIA Seed & Yield: its a gardening program, we run this program in six areas in Boston. Starting from Charlestown Sprouts Garden 17 beds, Nightingale Garden in Dorchester 16 huge plots, Dudley Greenhouse 3 beds for NUBIA and 3 beds for ISBCC, NUBIA Garden at Dimock Center 23 beds and over 50 plastic buckets, Boston Housing on Center Street 2 plots, ISBCC Garden 10 beds and we adding 12 beds now. All these to teach the youth about the food justice and keeping them in safe area, then donating the produce to the food pantries.. Swimming Program; we run this program at the Madison Park for gender.. Healthy Cultural Cooking program; this program to teach the youth and parents the safety of the food. Also we will run some academic programs to help student to continue remembering school programs.. To run all these programs we need budget, so please help us to continue help the community..

United Somali youth, Inc. (USY) is organized for, but not limited to, the social, economical, and educational development of the Somali people in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Our organization’s goals include – Creating Social Awareness within the Somali Community about the direction of our youth ages 6-18 and young adults 19-24 years of age; inspiring better decision making within our youth, create a forum for them to express their social needs; helping them develop through athletics, after-School hangouts, and weekend events that steer them from assimilating with life on the street. Promote youth activism, leadership, and empowerment. In the long-term, connect Somali youth with scholarships and grants that enable them to go to colleges and better their future. USY also address the issues of Boston refugee/immigrant Somali high school students' poor academic performance due to poor preparation in Somalia or in refugee camps; the conflicts they experience between the traditional values in their homes and mainstream America; their lack of understanding of American social customs, cultural expectations in the classroom and the workplace; and their unfamiliarity with the American system of post-secondary education.

The league is going into it's 16th year this upcomping Summer of providing a structured basketball league for Grove Hall youth. Project Right Inc expanded over the last six years to be year-round with league, and a Friday open night outreach component utilized by many partner organizations to deepen relations with the area youth. The ages of youth participants in the basketball outreach program ranged from 9-18 coed.Mike & Al's league has transitioned former participants who have "aged out" of our league into coaches and volunteers.For the past six season, our league has made the technology leap as we digitally record all our games and edit weekly highlight reel that we post to You tube and the officially the website to showcase our young peoples talents, We produce a year-end DVD of the season highlights,bloopers and championship game our youth participants as memento.

Each summer, a core group of Boston area youth and youth workers are educated in using the VISIONS framework to have discussions across barriers of race, class, gender, etc. and prepare them to effectively communicate with adults and to empower them to become leaders and catalysts for positive change. The youth also plan and implement a culminating community event. It is one of the goals of the VISIONS Youth consultants, and the Legacy Project to bring positive entertainment to young people, and also to provide young talented independent artists with a place to be heard.
