Manifesto: To search. To challenge. To build. To re-build. To redefine. To be abstract. We are anti-chic. We go against the trend. We are anti-fashion establishment. We are against refinement. To create a new fashion philosophy. To fuse intellect with style. To re-interpret the 1980’s and 1990’s philosophies that defines contemporary dressing. History: In 2006 a series of T-shirts from UNDRCVR Volume 1.0 circulated in the underground music scene of San Francisco that had a strong play and parody of pop culture, music and the designer logo obsessed youth. The circulation and distribution of the collection could only be acquired through djs in the Bay Area club music scene and San Francisco after hour parties. The enigmatic circulation of the T-shirts became an instant box of curiosities due to the inaccessibility and novelty. With limited numbers in circulation, a select crowd of the San Francisco nightlife and music scene made UNDRCVR a cult “underground” label. In 2007 UNDRCVR quickly gained traction in the Los Angeles, Chicago and New York dj scene through the distribution of party promoters and a chain of after hour house music parties. Critics regarded the label as the Banksy of streetwear for reasons like “UNDRCVR” as abbreviation for undercover which is a covert operation and for the “underground” circulation in the scene. “It suddenly appears and only select a crowd appreciate it and have it”. In 2008 the label gained notoriety in the punk rock and house music scene through out the U.S. with a collection entitled “Punk’s Not Dead Volume 1.1” that represented the state of mind of the Punk music scene of the early 80’s and the current punk rock scene today. A series of streetwear basics was released and launched in the Love Parade of 2008 as the UNDRCVR Volume 2.0 collection was greatly embraced by the dance music scene while multiple pop -up shops opened simultaneously at Coachella that quickly captured the grunge and rock music crowd. UNDRCVR became a novelty streetwear line at the Miami’s Winter Music Conference with multiple pop-up shops and distribution in the after hour parties in various clubs through out Miami. Soon enough several popular punk rock bands and various famous djs in the underground music scene was wearing shirts by UNDRCVR through out the United States. UNDRCVR continuous to open pop-up shops at Coachella, Winter Music Conference and the Love Parade annually. In 2009 the first studio of UNDRCVR opened in the hip district of the SoMa neighborhood of San Francisco where a strictly by music “connections” and introduction were allowed an appointment while limiting the distribution only through djs, bands, and club promoters. The new line of sportswear and streetwear entitled “Fly Now 2009 UNDRCVR Volume 2.0” was quickly embraced by the skater community. During the Fall of 09’, the first UNDRCVR fashion show was held at the BART (Bay Area Railway Transit) subway in the Montgomery station. Hundreds of followers appeared at the BART station who received either a flyer, a text message or an email stating only 3 things; Location, Time, and “be UNDRCVR”. In the midst of an unknowing public, the first UNDRCVR fashion presentation occurred and 45 models that arrived as a group out of nowhere took off trench coats showing the entire 2009 collection entitled the “be UNDRCVR Project” and walked a long line in the Montgomery station during the busy rush hour while a make shift sound system played tracks from The Sex Pistols to Duran Duran down to Nirvana. Several arrests resulted in the first “underground” UNDRCVR fashion show for public disruption and by not obtaining a permit although the same practice of presentation for each collection of UNDRCVR continues annually in various locations. In 2010 the second UNDRCVR studio opened in the SoHo neighborhood of New York with a Warhol-esque Silver Factory vibe where private parties are held and attended by the music and art aficionados of the New York “underground” scene. The UNDRCVR SoHo studio is not open to the public (unless a recommendation from previous distributors or select friends in the “underground” music and art scene were provided) and is strictly by appointment only. Simultaneous “underground” fashion shows was held in Manhattan in the Chelsea, Nolita and Soho neighborhoods in front of busy night spots that launched the “be UNDRCVR Project” Volume 3.0 collection for 2010. By the summer of 2010, due to huge pressure from the retail community and followers alike who found UNDRCVR’s inaccessibility in acquiring as a huge problem, UNDRCVR eventually distributed through a select number of retailers through out the San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles areas in a very limited quantity for each collection while still maintaining distribution through the djs, skate events, punk rock bands, party promoters and after hour parties. In 2011 the entire team behind UNDRCVR stayed in Hamburg Germany for 4 months to create the Spring and Summer collections and opened 8 pop-up shops at the Love Parade in Berlin. Soon after the team moved the design operation in the provinces of Catalonia Spain for the Fall and Winter collections while opening pop-up shops in the 18th Barcelona's International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art. UNDRCVR collectively designed Volumes 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 for the year outside the U.S. although still only distributing through retail in America, UNDRCVR remained in the “underground” music scene of Europe. In 2012 the design team spent 90 days in a remote area of the Magic Valley in Twin Falls Idaho away from the bustling scene of Manhattan and San Francisco to focus on the “be UNDRCVR project” Volume 3.0’s collection. In that same year, the distinction of Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter was blurred and only a yearly collection began to be produced pertaining to Volumes 1.1 to 1.10 and so on and so forth the other 2 Volumes of the UNDRCVR collections. Global Tricot Apparel LLC became the official manufacturer and distributor of UNDRCVR while keeping the “be UNDRCVR Project” Volume 3.0 produced in-house at the San Francisco and New York work shops. In the summer of 2012, the UNDRCVR design team spent 90 days residing in Tokyo Japan designing the collections and absorbing inspiration from the very extreme streetwear scene in Harajuku and opening 4 pop-up shops during the 3 day SonarSound Tokyo Music Festival. In 2013 the 3rd UNDRCVR studio opened in Los Angeles catering to the West Coast distribution along with the San Francisco studio. 7 Pop-up shops were opened at the Coachella Music Festival and the Miami Winter Music Conference to present the 2013 UNDRCVR Volume 1.0 and 2.0 collections. In the fall of 2013 UNDRCVR opened 2 satellite studios for distributors in Tokyo and Hong Kong under Global Tricot Apparel LLC to cater to the Asian market. Collections: Each collection is divided into 3 volumes. Each volume has a growing subset throughout the year that determines viability for the season. VOLUME 1.0 UNDRCVR ( a collection of t-shirts and tanks for both men and women ) VOLUME 2.0 UNDRCVR ( a collection of basic apparel for both men and women that reflect street wear philosophies ) VOLUME 3.0 be UNDRCVR Project ( Limited edition artisan made garments reconstructed from various existing articles of clothing using unconventional constructions and finishing techniques. )

When you visit Moxie, Kate’s showroom, you’ll find it filled to the brim with glittery jewelry—or the street-word “bling-bling.” Moxie is a tiny place, happily situated at the confluence of two aisles of the Gift Center’s lower jewelry level. Even though the shop is small, and she’d like to spread out, she can’t give up this wonderful location for the sake of more space.
