Lake Chalet is located in a gorgeously renovated 100 year old building and boasts 10,000 square feet of indoor dining and 2,500 square feet of outdoor dining on our dock. We serve a diverse menu of contemporary Californian cuisine with a focus on seafood that's full of new takes on old favorites and a great raw bar. Several dining areas make up our restaurant and offer something for everyone, including private dining and event space for weddings and large meetings. Our 80 foot long bar overlooks the lake and provides a great place to meet friends, enjoy great people-watching and drinks from our full bar featuring Beach Chalet Ales and handcrafted cocktails. The Dock has weekly specials (Taco Tuesday, Crab Friday, Weekend Grill) and serves afternoon drinks daily. We offer weekend brunch a la carte as well as a huge buffet spread on Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM. We also have authentic gondola rides on Lake Merritt available through Gondola Servicio – a truly unique and magical experience.

Pastries include an assortment of sweet and savory options including croissants and empanada. Our coffee selections reflect high specialty standards, with an emphasis on origins. We also host community events that include a monthly comedy event and regular rotation of art complete with artist receptions. Our cafe is a great place to socialize, for meetings, and a place to work; the closest place to home.

Oakland's most enchanting wedding venue! Our panoramic view encompasses the blue-green of Lake Merritt and the lush Oakland hills. A special treat for evening events is the Necklace of Lights, which is a chain of lights on ornate Victorian light poles that surround the entire lake. We provide all food & beverage. Our menu features an upscale Californian cuisine.A variety of menus are available, and if none catch your eye, our Executive Chef will gladly create a custom menu to suit your needs. Please select the menu tab to review special events menus. The Terrace Room is available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00pm to 1:00am. Wedding Ceremonies can be held indoors for at an hourly rate. The Terrace Room is also available for smaller events throughout the week. Please inquire about our availability.

Our vegan "meats" are 100% plant based and the taste and texture are as close to the original as you can get.
