We are located in the one building in Windsor, Vermont right in between Harpoon Brewery and Simon Pierce. Great River Outfitters offers access to a broad range of outdoor fun. In the Summer and Fall we offer float trips (canoes, kayaks, rafts, tubes) on a pristine section of the Connecticut River. The part of the river we use is suitable for people of all ages and paddling abilities. In addition to float trips, we offer unique canoe/camping opportunities. The Path of Life Sculpture Garden is a 14-acre Japenese inspired garden. It lies directly behind Great River Outfitters. The Path of Life gift shop is loctaed within the Great River building. The Garden tells the story of the great circle of life. Eighteen works of art symbolize out journey from birth to death and beyond. The trails wind through large open fields, wildflowers, mazes and more. The Garden brings together art and nature to create a fun, relaxing, and rejuvenating experience for all ages. Great River Outfitters offers tipi camping in the Garden. We also provide the option of camping in primitive island campsites along the river as part of an extended float trip. Our fleet of canoes, kayaks, and rafts can accommodate individual explorers, families, youth groups, office outings and family reunions. In the Winter we offer unique trips that include dog-sledding, sleigh rides, moonlight snowshoe adventures, and winter camping. In addition to specialized trips, we run a daily rental program for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Most of our Winter activities occur on 50-acres of farm fields that are next to our shop and 14-acres in the Path of Life Garden. For more extreme terrain, we access Mt.
