Built in 1889, the Green Building was originally constructed as a brass foundry. It has since been restored into an elegant mixed-use venue with more than 6,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor space. Renovations highlight the building's industrial past; the venue's original exposed brick walls, natural light and open-beamed ceiling make a unique backdrop for your Brooklyn event. We host weddings, live performances, intimate gatherings, blowout bashes, milestone celebrations, creative conferences, community events and much, much more.
Tucked among five distinct Brooklyn neighborhoods – Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boreum Hill, and Park Slope – 501 Union has become a hub for the community to gather, celebrate, educate, and learn. Whether you're hosting a party, a conference, or a popup market, we invite you to make our space entirely yours for the evening. The building dates back to 1916 and once served as a classic car restoration shop. It was transformed into a private events venue in 2013 and now provides a unique backdrop for stylish weddings, corporate events, and photo shoots.

MAISON MAY was built with the desire to be une maison— a house, a home, a place where one can feel at ease, a place to connect and celebrate, and surrounded be by integrity & honesty. May refers to owner Catherine May’s last name and birth month. MAISON MAY also refers to the old European tradition, one of belonging to a group of professional individuals (mostly artisans at that time) who shared one common incredibly strong core value—deep pride in their work—and a desire for a legacy that one could give to the world without any individual agenda, instead based on the desire to build something beautiful & durable. Physically MAISON MAY is two distinct places both with the same ethics, values, integrity, aesthetic & team. Our mission is simple: we serve delicious food produced locally in the most ethical & sustainable way and help you celebrate all the most important occasions. MAISON MAY DEKALB has an incredible layout: it is nestled on the bottom floor of a beautiful, historical brownstone which opens into a dreamy garden patio. On the second floor, the Parlor Floor, it has high ceilings, original moldings & pocket doors. MASON MAY DEKALB can host events for as few as 20 people & up to 100, either by simply booking the parlor floor or closing down the entire house. We are home to weddings, birthdays, bridal & baby showers, corporate dinners, holiday events and more. Our menu is generous and locally sourced and sustained. We cultivate close relationships with local farmers, cheese mongers, butchers, and fishermen. MAISON MAY VANDERBILT is a café by day (from 8am to 6pm) offering locally sourced food, beverages and curated objects for the home & a quaint, inviting space for private events by night. MAISON MAY brings the best of what the New York area has to offer, and even more, is representative of Brooklyn’s history and unique style.
