Sue Fisher King opened her store in 1978 with the same purpose that she is still fulfilling today...to bring her discoveries in home design to the customers who are enticed by her selections. She makes frequent trips to find special things, both sophisticated and rustic, brings them home to San Francisco and oh-so-carefully fits them all into her cozy little store. Enter the store, and you are bathed in rich textures and colors and surrounded by the finest in home furnishings. Explore—and you are dazzled by carefully displayed gems and the warm charm of Sue Fisher King and her friendly and experienced sales staff. Sue naturally creates a luscious environment and levity, just by being who she is: a fun, worldly, innovative woman who tells a story, and brings it to you in each piece she selects. SFK has been a landmark in San Francisco for 33 years, and is thought of by many as "the only place to shop."
Appealingly luxurious and comfortably at home in its Pacific Heights neighborhood, ANTHEM welcomes all to draw inspiration from our unique selection of home decor. With a knack for discovering must-haves, the store is layered with a fabulous collection of antiques, furniture, lighting solutions, tabletop and eye-catching accessories. From African kudu horns to Spanish hand-woven textiles, we have followed our passion across the globe picking up these exotic treasures along the way. With an eye for layered metallics, neutrals, and natural materials, ANTHEM adds an appreciation for details to modern design. As a family owned store with a team of industry professionals, ANTHEM takes pride in our personalized customer service and attention to detail. While ANTHEM embodies founder Janelle Loevner’s vision, it similarly appeals to the designer in all of us. Just as Janelle associates her creative identity and personal “anthem” with her store, we hope that our visitors are also inspired to compose their own anthem at home.

When the husband and wife team of Pete & Hope Colling moved Hope’s clothing store, Marmalade, to a larger location last year, the dynamic pair took on the challenge of designing and building out the new space entirely on their own. The result of their first collaboration was so widely embraced that Marmalade was awarded the coveted title of Best Boutique in the Bay Area by SF City Voter. But even from the start the duo knew they had created something special, when on their second day open, a customer begged Hope to allow her to buy a table used to display candles that Pete had made from redwood he salvaged from an old roller rink in Petaluma. She said yes, and Pete made a similar one to replace it. Within a week that one sold too. It became such a frequent occurrence that customers would inquire about purchasing the fixtures and displays that they decided to open a second store nearby and call it The Mason Jar so they could do just that. When Hope started casually letting Marmalade customers know about the upcoming store, a buzz began to grow and Refinery 29 even interviewed Hope about it. The result was a 24 page article highlighting Hope & Pete’s ability to set trends in both apparel and interiors, and since it’s release there have been subsequent blogs, blurbs and insider’s buzz about it. With Marmalade about to enter it’s 7th year in business on Union Street, it’s 5 star rating on Yelp and over 2,500 loyal, local Facebook & Twitter followers, The Mason Jar is sure to follow in its older sister’s footsteps!

Aedicule's Peter Werkhoven is an awarded European master gilder and frame maker, specializing in the conservation of picture frames, antique objects and historical architecture. He trained at the historic Dutch firm, Gehring & Heijdenrijk in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, under Paul Gehring, a third generation frame maker, mastering the craft of gilding and antique restoration/conservation for more than 10 years before opening his atelier in San Francisco in 2003. Antique relics dating from as far back as the 13th Century up to this era have passed through his studio and have received conservation treatments. For over the past years Peter has dealt with projects for The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, St. Paul’s cathedral in Minnesota and has worked with numerous top architects, designers and private collectors.
