The Ponchartrain Apartments was an apartment building located at 1350 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. It was also known as the Renaissance Apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, but subsequently demolished.DescriptionThe Ponchartrain Apartment building was a four-story red brick structure sitting atop a limestone foundation. Window sills, coping, and a belt course between the first and second stories were also constructed of limestone. The entrance sat in an arched opening flanked by ornamental pilasters supporting the lintel. Swags and urns decorate the entablature, and urns also grace the stone relief panels beneath the end windows.HistoryThe Ponchartrain Apartments were built in 1920 at a cost of $195,000. The building went through a succession of owners, and was renamed the Monticello Apartment Hotel in 1926, the Shorecrest Apartments in 1949, and the Renaissance Apartments in 1981. The building has been demolished.

The Charles C. Trowbridge House is located at 1380 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. It is the oldest documented building in the city of Detroit; it was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1974 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.HistoryCharles Christopher Trowbridge built this house in 1826 at a cost of $2500 on what was then farmland, far from the heart of Detroit. At the time, the River Road (now East Jefferson) ran behind the house; the original access to the house may have been from what is now the rear. Houses of this type often had similar front and rear layouts, with entrances at both ends of a central hallway.Trowbridge lived in the house for 56 years until his death in 1883. The house, originally built in a Greek Revival style, was updated with Victorian elements such as the bay window in the front.After Trowbridge's death, the house remained in the family, and was converted to a rooming house in 1936. In 1942, the Trowbridge family sold the house to Marie Cavanaugh and it was converted back to a single-family residence. Today, the house is privately owned and houses multiple businesses including Trowbridge Law Firm, Trowbridge Realty, Dickson & Associates and RBD Creative.

It is the oldest surviving brick house in the city; it was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1971 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.HistoryThe Moross House was completed in 1848 by brickmaker Christopher Moross; it was one of two built by Moross on the site. The ownership changed hands several times until the Detroit Historical Commission purchased it in the 1920s. The house was completely restored in 1971 - 1973. Currently it is a private home.DescriptionThe Moross House is a three-bay townhouse, built in a vernacular Federal style with Greek Revival details, including heavy stone lintels and sidelights and a transom surrounding the entrance. It stands two stories tall, built on a foundation of river limestone. The roof is parapeted with wood shingles, and a pair of chimneys bracket the roof. A single-story addition sits to the rear, and a second is on the side.
