After creating a remarkably solid cornerstone for Dallas’ burgeoning, young pool/cabana scene, Sisu Uptown Resort celebrates their one year anniversary and unveils their latest creation - Sisu Supperclub. Headed by GM/Managing Partner Dan Bui and partner Wade Randolph Hampton, Sisu will celebrate the occasion this Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st. Previous to the resort property’s creation of the weekly poolside day club AQUA, A-list DJ talent was limited to Southside and Deep Ellum neighborhoods. Sisu’s opening will forever mark the era when these top tier DJs returned to Dallas’ Uptown/Downtown area. How was this accomplished by one venue? The answer is in the team consisting of resident DJ/Entertainment - Director Wade Randolph Hampton, and his promotional partnership with the Dallas arm of global concert powerhouse SFX and Disco Donnie Presents/Full Access. AQUA has played host to superstar DJs Paul Oakenfold, 12th Planet, Destructo, Cedric Gervais, Dev, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Hardkiss Family and Sliink. Continuing in the tradition of Sisu’s trademark ‘Malibu surf house’ design, the makeover will include a stylish interior ensemble within the 4,500 square foot Spanish home. The new design, created by Hampton, features dramatic changes to the dining room seating, lighting, and sound. Upstairs has transformed into a secluded skybox overlooking the main room, and is outfitted with both a billiards room and a private dining / bar area. Rounding out the second floor is private smoking balcony with a beautiful view of Sisu’s massive pool area. Wade Randolph Hampton says, "I'm a huge fan of Stubb's BarBQ in Austin and what their camp represents to truly cool music. That traditional Texas restaurant, had always supported music right beside the BarBQ because that was old man Stubbs dream since day one, way back in Lubbock before he had opened Austin. Now that legacy of musical enthusiasts oversees some of the world's premier festivals with ACL and Lollapolooza. We want to do that for cutting edge electronic music. Our partners are that entrenched with this top caliber of artists. And we are more than happy to be the boutique venue with incredible food and a big smile for the fans. We have shown Dallas that we understand what they want in a poolside party. All that remains is to prove that Sisu's unique brand of bombastic fun, based on top DJs and producers is worthy year round...not just poolside. And I think our new venue and talent alone, speaks for itself." Perhaps the most dramatic change in Sisu’s program will be the new menu. Noteworthy items on Sisu’s original, highly praised menu will remain, while the world’s greatest party food –pizza – steps into the restaurant menu’s signature role. Sisu’s pizza is more than competitive with the best in the city and will be served late into the evening. The American Airlines Center is a multi-purpose arena, located in the Victory Park neighborhood, near downtown Dallas, Texas. The venue serves as the home to the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association, and the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League. The arena is also used for concerts and other live entertainment. It opened in 2001 at a cost of $420 million.History and constructionBy 1998, the Dallas Mavericks, then owned by H. Ross Perot, Jr., and the Dallas Stars were indicating their desire for a new facility to replace the dated Reunion Arena. Dallas taxpayers approved a new hotel tax and rental car tax to pay for a new facility to cover a portion of the funding, with the two benefiting teams, the Mavericks and the Stars, picking up the remaining costs, including cost overruns. The new arena was to be built just north of Woodall Rodgers Freeway near Interstate 35E on the site of an old power plant. On March 18, 1999, American Airlines announced that it would be acquiring the naming rights for the arena for US$195 million. American Airlines is headquartered in Fort Worth and is based at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
