Franklin Field is the home of the Penn Relays, and is the University of Pennsylvania's stadium for football, lacrosse and formerly for soccer, field hockey and baseball. It is also used by Penn students for recreation, and for intramural and club sports, including touch football and cricket, and is the site of Penn's graduation exercises, weather permitting. It is located in Philadelphia, at the eastern edge of Penn's campus, across the Schuylkill River from Center City. It was formerly the home field of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.HistoryFranklin Field was built for $100,000 and dedicated on April 20, 1895, for the first running of the Penn Relays. Deemed by the NCAA as the oldest stadium still operating for football, it was the site of the nation's first scoreboard in 1895.The Field supplemented and eventually replaced the venue called University Grounds, which was located a few blocks west on a block bounded by Spruce Street (north), 38th Street (east), Pine Street (south), Woodland Avenue and 37th Street T-intersection (northwest). Its location was typically given as "37th and Spruce".

Opened in February 2010, the state-of-the-art Drexel Recreation Center is the fitness hub in University City. The Recreation Center is committed to providing a lasting and meaningful impact on the health and well-being of its members. Daskalakis Athletic Center is a 300,000 square-foot athletic and recreational facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.The facility is best known for its 2,532-seat multi-purpose arena that is home to multiple Drexel University Dragons sports teams including basketball and wrestling. While the entire recreation center, including the multi-purpose arena, gym, natatorium, rock climbling wall, and squash canter are located in the athletic center, the "DAC" generally refers solely to the multi-purpose arena.At the 2006 convocation Drexel University president Constantine Papadakis announced a 60000sqft, three-story addition to the existing Daskalakis Athletic Center. The project, which expanded to an 84000sqft addition, broke ground in June 2008. Construction finished in December 2009 and parts of the building opened to students in January 2010. The Drexel Recreational Center officially opened in February.Notable eventsBasketballThe DAC hosted games in all or part of the 1993-1996 America East Conference men's basketball tournaments, the 2005 NIT Season Tip-Off, and the 2007 and 2012 National Invitation Tournament. The DAC was built in 1974 as the Physical Education and Athletic Center (PEAC) and was renamed in 2001 after a gift from former Drexel Lacrosse player John A. Daskalakis ('63).
