Located at 2871 24th Street, L’s Caffe in the Mission is a family owned and operated eatery and drink spot. Established in 2005, from it’s conception was dreamed as healthy and affordable food establishment, a community hub, environmentally and family friendly. We proudly prepare our meals with fresh quality products and a twist of love, tender and spices with no complication. With several awards and city recognitions under the sleeve, we maintain our commitment to provide our diverse customers and neighbors with a caring and delicious palate experience. We continue to strive in our green practices by composting and recycling up to 90% of our waste, switching to LED system and only using 100% recycled paper and take out supplies. Jacky and Michael Recchiuti wanted to bring a little bit of adventure from their travels to Dogpatch in San Francisco. As homage to this hamlet, they wanted to coalesce the character of this neighborhood with the alchemy of what they do, thus the name theLab. To take it a step further reestablishing the “experiential tasting dinners” from time past …the tasteProjects, partnering with culinary compatriots who have like-minded philosophies in creating food that’s innovative and daring with humor. This shared passion completes the evolution in finding the right formula of the cozy café space of theLab.

Why "Chez Maman"? Obviously, because you can never eat better than your mother's cooking. What is warmer than to be with her and eat the food she has just cooked for you? Simple and delicious. My mother always told me "finis ton assiette" because it was proof to her that I loved what she cooked for me. Chez Maman is inspired by this kind of childhood memory. We have tried to recreate that atmosphere with a menu composed of French basics. Tasty items like a hamburger with guacamole or French brie with a good glass of wine - a welcoming and tasty French meal. Chez Maman is a neighborhood restaurant with a bistro concept. We attribute our success to the friendly and casual atmosphere as well as our delicious home cooked meals. The ambiance is French inspired naturally, with the warm colors of the French countryside. What could be more relaxing? Our goal is to satisfy patrons at any time of day or evening from a casual salad or burger for lunch, a mid-afternoon sweet crepe to a three course meal with a great bottle of French wine when you just don't feel like cooking. Of course, if you want to enjoy your Chez Maman meal at home with your feet up, we will gladly make it for you to go. The menu is the same in all of our Chez Maman restaurants. The first one opened on Potrero Hill in 2002. The neighbors all soon became regulars, coming in two or three times a week to share a comfortable meal with their friends and family. We have recently opened a location in Bernal Heights and will soon have one conveniently located on Union Street. We look forward to seeing you at one of our Chez Maman located near you.
Chez Papa is inspired by food culture that we the owners grew up with in the South of France. Growing up, dinner time was an integral part of family life, it was the only opportunity we had to be together and share our everyday experiences. It was always a time to relax and feel comfortable in a very warm and familiar atmosphere and enjoy good, simple home cooking. We were a family of only four but it seemed like we were forty; singing, making jokes, arguing, crying, but mostly laughing. There were times when I hated those dinners but they are now the most precious memories of my life. Having been in the restaurant business for eighteen years I have seen many styles and ideas on the dining experience, but my dream has always been to recreate and share these types of evenings I enjoyed as a child in South of France. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and boisterous much like the temperament of the people of Provence. The food is simple, unpretentious, and most importantly authentic. We strive to recreate the simple yet subtle flavors of Provence cooking. The wine is an integral part of the meal and the conviviality of sharing life. The team at Chez Papa is almost entirely French and specifically from the south and we take great pride in sharing with you our culture in a very warm and friendly way. We are not, and do not pretend to be a fine dining restaurant. We aspire to create a more relaxed, more casual setting where everyone can feel at home.
