Ben here. Founder of Capsule Concepts. Once on a flight home from Comic Con I had a sobering thought. My friends and family aren't working together on anything. Why not? This is the USA. Immigrants come here by the millions looking to start a company, food/service/creative or otherwise to support their family local or abroad. Why are we not pooling our resources, combining our talents, and making a name and a legacy for ourselves? My analysis of USA culture is that we love our toys. Recession hit us hard but it didn't keep us out of the mall or, in my personal case, filling my garage with motorcycles. We pay our bills, we pay our taxes, we buy toys. I want to appeal to this sense. I want to make things that people spend their hard earned cash on. I want to make a motorcycle that riders and non-riders alike look at and say, "Damn. That's hot. I need that." But I also want to do a little mold-breaking. Our first bike will be different. Harley and Honda riders alike will look at it and see something different. Our apparel line will be classy. Durable. Chic. Couture. A phrase Nathan Oliver (my partner and apparel exec) and I coined, Motocouture. Lastly, we want to represent St. Louis. The city and metro area has changed a lot in the last five to ten years and I believe its population is ready for a local startup. We are a proud city with a large riding population. And we love our fashion. We are St. Louis. We are USA. We are Capsule.
